Not sure. Truck mentioned he trained and the fact he had not seen the VFL game but did not actually say if he played or just did a big training session.

Our last VFL update on the club site was October last year.
Surely the could find someone to provide something. Lets face it all we have had so far to go on is via twitter from people outside the club.
Coaches do not have time to provide a short weekly update ?
Piss poor.

We are consistently the worst presence in the VFL on social media. FFS we're 6 days away from round 1 and the club haven't even put the VFL list on the website!

Would be interesting to see how our wet weather footy holds up in the VFL. Players like Atley, Voss etc should thrive in it

Tsatas and SEH were my best. Apologies to those guys with high numbers on their backs, apart from Sellers and Nyko I don’t know names so didn’t always acknowledge good play.

Most likely to get selected next week IMHO would be El-Hawli followed by Gresh, who kicked a bag, then Tsatas - but who would Elijah replace?

Robey displayed plenty of that bullish power I expected to see and clearly just needs a game or two under his belt. The moment he gets the ball you get this “hold my beer” sense, as though he’s the man in charge out there.

Farrow didn’t get that much of it but has superb composure and at one point hit Nyko on the chest with the Pass of the Year.

Cox looked a bit lost, Vigo competed well, Gresh kicked maybe 5 goals, Guelfi had a “nearly” sort of game. Archer Day Wicks was one of our better players but needs to get his hands on the ball more often. Gerreyn was ok but nothing to write home about.

VFL Report

Nice day for footy at Arden St.

Was a pretty even match all day. North just seemed to kick straight at important times to our easy miss. We kicked 2.8 in the 2nd when we had a lot of the play. Ended up with one more scoring shot but lost by a few goals. Still a good hit out.

9 listed players out there today. No Jones, McMahon, Unwin, Edwards. Not sure why Jones didn’t play.

Felt like Tsatas had the ball 35-40 times today. Was elite in clearance work and was using the ball well. Definitely a more stable kick now. Did get tired in the last and severely cramped up. I sense if he plays seniors it will be a max 70% game time situation. Would have played 85% today. His clearance work is hard to ignore.

Gresham kicked 5 goals and would have had around 20 Disp. Fantastic game and it would be hard to ignore next week v Port.

Robey had a solid start to his Essendon playing career. I counted 18 Disp and a point today. Came off for the day 20 mins into the third Qtr. Had many bench rotations so it was a good outing on limited mins. No doubt he blew out some cobwebs and will need to build conditioning next 3 or so weeks. Played a lot of midfield mins. First Qtr had 8 Disp. Quiet in the 2nd but had a number of mins on the bench. I thought he may just fade off with tiredness but the coach moved him to half-forward for 20 mins after half-time and thats when he started to find his old groove. Had around 7 Disp and was setting up scores. Missed a 45m goal… just looked dangerous. So club would be very happy with how he went

Farrow a bit reserved for me today. Didn’t have much of an impact at half-back. El-Hawli more the stand out in that area.

Vigo had a nice ruck connection with Tsatas but he could not make much of an impact around the ground. Has to improve there.

Gerreyn best and worst is all there to see. Thought he did ok but boy he can mentally switch off sometimes… then take a huge pack mark and hot the pass.

Day-Wicks had an almost day. Kicked 0.3

Solid out as a practice match.
