He's a solid boy.
And given we lost Glover, Dean and no De Bolfo we are in need of another key defender

For all three to go hurts. Smit and Reef are very raw defenders. They need a senior player presence. With Checkers gone that remote thought he will be switched to the backline has gone. Howe is injury prone. Leppitsch was comfortable with our depth and the need for a senior backman was not immediate. It all seems light on. McCartin may find a path to the seniors. Long way to go.

I am liking the selections for the VFL side. There are some massive wholes from senior players leaving and VFL players taking other opportunities. I have a feeling the path from VFL to an AFL list spot is a bit more defined. At one stage McCartin was reported as a hot late developer.

Unsure whether they have a list spot or just traning for one -- but two ex Bullants now the club has been disbanded (and previously from tassie in the coates league (2021 for Blade and 2022 for Connor) have been training during preseason so far.

Blade is a 185cm strong bodied inside midfielder who extracts plenty of football & has the ability to push forward & hit the scoreboard.

Connor is a 191cm forward who can play through the midfield.
