North Ballarat vs Northern Bullants Saturday 1.10 (ABC TV)

Grand Final Rematch.
May feature some good Carlton players, if the 1's swing the axe. Reutrn of Grigg and possible return of Austin.

Will be great to see Zac Touhy and Simon White in action.

Will probably catch 3 qaurters before the seniors start on TV.

Echuca ey? I'm heading up there tomorrow for our Cricket end of season! Give us the run down of where to head out, and best watering holes.

Well i'm from there, been in melb the last 6 years or so...For the arvo session sit out the front of The Bridge Hotel or the Echuca Hotel (has a good tab) or the Shamrock, all are within a footy kick of each other near the Port area...the Echuca has become the place for all the youngins too head too before going "out" haha. Only night club in town is OPT, I hate the joint but you lads will prolly have fun, its near the main street.....enjoy!

Nice looking team the Bullants have there.
Great to see Donaldson in line for a senior call up in the VFL.
Sadly we wont see O'Keeffe for at least another 2 weeks according to the injury list :(, can't wait for him to get back on the park.
Looking forward to watching most of this game before the Blues take to the field

Carlton should win with Thornton, Hadley, Waite, Jacobs, Grigg, Wiggins, Johnson, Browne and Anderson playing.

Good to have a strong VFL team minus Austin, Hampson, Fisher and O'keeffe.

It will be good to see Kerr, Tuohy, Casboult and Davies play for the first time.

We might get to see Cunnington play v Hadley.

Where's their wonderboy Majak Daw?

I'd love to hear about Labi playing on him in the seconds and doing well...

Quarter time.

Roosters 34
Bullants 14

Poor game, really. Windy conditions and the ground is in terrible touch. Plenty of turnovers.

Carlton listed players:

Waite - couple of early touches sweeping across the half back line but a few turnovers.
Thornton - playing forward, been ineffective thus far.
Johnson - not too bad, kicking looks a whole lot better at this level.
Wiggins - kicked a goal but hasn't done much else.
Dare - really impressive. Getting plenty of it and generally using it pretty well.
Casboult - impressive. Hasn't impacted on the scoreboard yet but is presenting well up the ground and taking a few marks. Massive lad and knows how to use his body - split a pack open leading to the Wiggins goal.
Tuohy - hasn't done much but I reckon we have a player. Baulked a Rooster which was brilliant, followed by a great kick. Skills look excellent for a player in his first year.
Kerr - don't think he has touched it. Seen him a few times but ineffective at this stage.
Jacobs - cominant big man on the ground. Winning heaps of taps in the ruck contests and presenting around the ground.
Grigg - getting a bit of it. Disposal is poor. Very aggressive footballer which I don't mind but he needs to control himself.
Ellard - feel for him. Tries his guts out and is a good little player. Needs to move to another club at the end of the season. Would be a fantastic get for the Gold Coast I reckon.
Davies - plenty of run out of the backline but needs to be tighter on his man. Disposal a bit hit and miss.
Hadley - hasn't done much.

Goals - Arrowsmith, Wiggins
Ellard 8
Waite 5
Dare 5
Johnson 6
Wiggins 4

I still think we should pick up Arrowsmith at the end of the year. Not bad as a medium sized forward.
Iaccobucci is rubbish.

2 goals in quick succession for the Bullants.

Waite had a big part in both of them, looks to be growing in confidence.

First goal was brilliant. Wiggins and Hadley combining on half back, gave it to Waite who baulked, ran with it and delivered to Kerr, who kicked it beautifully to Levi on a lead. Levi converted from 50 to finish off a beautiful play.

Bullants dominating this quarter. Down 33-35 8 minutes into the 2nd.

Cachia has a long kick, but hasn't been sighted much.

Walshy is a beautiful kick to position, but hasn't been sighted much like Yarran early last year.

Needs to get fitter.

I like Tuohy who is quick, aggressive and kick beautiful drop punts. Teague described Dishwater as one of the best kicks he's seen.

Grigga is impressive with his agility inside and playing to his strengths by using quick handpasses, yet he needs to tighten up without the ball if he wants a senior game. Grigg just spectated as they took it down the ground. Was dragged for going the man in his first game back from suspension, so Grigga has some intensity that the senior side needs.

Waite showed great agility to baulk on the run and fired out a handpass to set up a goal.

I think they've told him to put his boots away because he's handpassing every time he gets the ball.

Thornton is now forward.

Yet he still turns it over because he kicked into the man on the mark.

Jacobs is a top ruckman and more mobile than last year.

Warnock better fire today.

Hadley kicks and hopes.

Browne hasn't done anything.

Was caught holding the ball after trying to do too much with the ball.

Casboult is massive and an OK kick for goal.

Davies was beaten by Jones, but he was an undersized key forward with AFL experience. Looked better running it off half back just before half time, but he isn't a great kick like Tuohy and Kerr. I don't know how guys who grew up playing AFL can't kick, yet an Irishman can kick beautiful and text book drop punts.
