Yep, we traditionally give these MSD picks a training block prior to throwing them into the VFL. Allows us to assess their fitness and readiness for the VFL and provides them some time to learn our game plan and their teammates.

Their fitness and readiness? Both have been playing SANFL and WAFL, they're ready for VFL.

We bring in a bunch of new guys every VFL game with no experience playing in the team anyway

Not sure about need to, but generally the club doesn't put players straight in. Given they arrived on the same night the vfl trained and didn't participate that I saw briefly, I'd suggest they'll have them wait a week. Get a full week of training next week and decide from there.

Given their time in the VFL will be more about learning our system and how they can fit in rather than contributing to VFL wins, I doubt they'll play

We don't need Glover up Forward at the Moment with 5 Tall Forwards in side with West/Steene/Howe/Mason/Cox

And we only put glover forward when we need to, so I suggest he will start in defence

Wow, that’s a tall forward line, even given Glover will likely move back into defence. Reminds me of when we had Witts, Wood, Gault, Ceglar and McNamara all playing ruck and/or forward. Hopefully it works out better this time around.

Surprised they’ve named Steele and Howes. These MSD picks traditionally seem to get a training block before they get a game. Long is the only exception I can recall but he was already in our program.
