Here it is! The one we've all been waiting for. We're finally on TV! Essendon and Richmond will face off for the second time in about 5 weeks after both recorded upset wins against the teams that were residing in second and third place on the table. The two sides sit in 7th and 8th with good percentage, only 2 games out of the top 4 amazingly after a 4-5 record

Essendon beat current flag favourites Williamstown by 15 points in a tight tussle at Windy Hill and will be looking to capitalize on that momentum this week. David Myers and Darcy Parish were excellent for the Dons, collecting 32 and 27 disposals respectively in a total midfield domination, whilst Josh Begley kicked 4 goals for the bombers in a bid to earn a senior debut.

Richmond also upset a top 4 side in Preston, smashing them after quarter time, kicking 14 goals to 2 after the first break, in a complete domination. Anthony Miles was everywhere whilst collecting 38 touches for the game in a best on ground effort whilst the goals were shared by many, with Jake Batchelor, Taylor Hunt and Mabior Chol kicking 2 apiece

Obviously Darcy Parish will be playing AFL instead of VFL. Very strong side named. Jayden Laverde back in.

No Aaron Heppell?
Maybe Leuenberger misses as well given we have Drapes and Smack. In any case Boyse and Ferry are our best VFL players IMO and NOB is captain. Can't play Heppell as 23rd Player. If Leuey misses as well we probably go in as:

Morgan - Ferry - Dea
Ridley - Brown - Heppell
Long - Stanton - Merrett
Laverde - Boyse - Mutch
McKernan - Francis - Begley/Howlett
Draper - Bird - Myers
Hocking - O'Brien - Redman - Clarke - Berry

Damn that's a strong side.

Full squads and match day info for everyone bellow. Will be a cracking game.

Ladder as it Currently stands with Essendon Sitting 9th and Richmond 8th

Seven's opening segment included footage of:
- Shaun Edwards
- Will Hams
- Dan Coghlan
- James Polkinghorne
- Yestin Eases
Solid coverage is solid. hahah Dunno whether that's ineptitude, choosing recognisable faces or limited VFL footage of the relevant teams since last year...

Howlett the held-over emergency... unlucky to be named in both sides (because of the extended bench for a Sunday game) and play in neither :O

Of the three emergencies Benny is the obvious one to hold over though. Need to keep getting game time into Begley's legs and Leuy needs to keep plugging away to push for selection.

Considering this is our first televised game in 2017. it makes sense. I doubt they'd use footage filmed by the clubs. Would have to be CH 7 footage.
