Here it is! The one we've all been waiting for. We're finally on TV! Essendon and Richmond will face off for the second time in about 5 weeks after both recorded upset wins against the teams that were residing in second and third place on the table. The two sides sit in 7th and 8th with good percentage, only 2 games out of the top 4 amazingly after a 4-5 record
Essendon beat current flag favourites Williamstown by 15 points in a tight tussle at Windy Hill and will be looking to capitalize on that momentum this week. David Myers and Darcy Parish were excellent for the Dons, collecting 32 and 27 disposals respectively in a total midfield domination, whilst Josh Begley kicked 4 goals for the bombers in a bid to earn a senior debut.
Richmond also upset a top 4 side in Preston, smashing them after quarter time, kicking 14 goals to 2 after the first break, in a complete domination. Anthony Miles was everywhere whilst collecting 38 touches for the game in a best on ground effort whilst the goals were shared by many, with Jake Batchelor, Taylor Hunt and Mabior Chol kicking 2 apiece
