Downhill skier ? - he turned the game against Haw in the 2nd QTR with his precision kicking.
Yes he did, but Hawthorn didn't exactly put much pressure on, which is the original argument re: downhill skiing.

While I think Lipinski's execution by foot is great.... physical contact is something he seems averse to. Makes poor choices under pressure also.

He put his body ahead of Meek to mark and goal.
Would you do that?

It feels worth noting that a player is often lifted by the quality of the team around them. A star playing in a VFL side isn't always going to go out there and demolish everyone. It is a system based, team sport. Pretty high chance (not garuanteed obviously) that Titch's abilities and performances would be better complimented by an equally experienced team.

Your posts tonight overall are unhinged.

You need a vodka tonic and a nice little lie down
You can join the board's budding psychologists mate that launch into personal attacks instead of talking footy. Maybe stop at Specsavers too if you disagree with my accurate description of last night's VFL game.

Long has made himself invaluable. Allan is not there yet.
He is beginning to show his talents as he has been trusted more regularly…and you can see McRae will want to keep him in the side and amongst it too such are the wraps on him.
Not to mention they have made him truly earn it

I suggest you go back and watch the replay. The game was in the balance when Lipinski turned it.
Your definition of down hill skiing is wrong - it actually means excelling when your team is well ahead on the score board.
That was not the case with Lippa.

Like kids potting the man so that mummy can praise them for being right....

In Collingwood’s dominant 51-point win over Hawthorn, Patrick Lipinski’s performance fits the profile of a classic “downhill skier.” Despite the Magpies overwhelming and historic +44 tackle differential and controlling the game from the second quarter onward, Lipinski had 0 contested possessions, 0 F50 ground ball gets, 0 ground ball gets, 0 intercept possessions, 0 contested marks, 0 intercept marks, 0 1%ers before being subbed out in the third quarter due to concussion. Even accounting for the injury, his impact in a game where Collingwood was clearly on top suggests he benefited from the team's dominance rather than driving doing the hard work to drive it. His low defensive output and lack of contested impact, particularly in a match defined by pressure (Collingwood had 44 forward half tackles compared to Hawthorn's entire 38 - Schultz (6), McCreery (6) and Mihocek (4) the main protagonists), reinforce the perception of a player who excels when the going is easy but offers little resistance when challenged.

I suggest you take your blinkers off.
Crazy the coaching panel don’t follow your theories hey.

People were pushing out Sides and Jamie Elliot last year too. Pendles was done about 12 weeks ago. Schultz was supposedly no good either. It’s premature to rule out Titch especially since he was arguably BOG last week and a possible inclusion earlier in the week … come finals you’d be silly to go with Sullivan or Allan over Titch.
Agree with most of this, but Allan and Titch are not comparable, they play completely different roles.
