VFL Game Day VFL Round 11: Werribee vs Essendon (13 point win; 106-93)

The sides that met in round 1 will face off again this week, this time at Werribee's Chirnside Park in a game where both need to win if they want to continue to stay in touch with the top 8. Werribee came away with a 3 goal win in round 1 off the back of very accurate kicking.

Werribee are in a rut of bad form right now, just coming off a 31 point loss to Richmond which saw them drop out of the top 8. Lachie Hansen was awarded best afield after kicking 3 goals and collecting 12 marks among his 26 touches playing as a key forward, while Ryan Clarke collected 29 disposals for the Tigers.

Essendon had a disappointing loss at the hands of Sandringham, kicking 9 goals and 21 behinds in a very inaccurate display of goalkicking. Young gun Jayden Laverde was among the best for the Bombers, booting three goals whilst Jason Ashby also impressed across half-back, collecting 25 disposals and 5 marks in a display that should get him a senior recall.

No where near as strong as round 1. Actually one of the weakest sides they've posted this year.

Why isn't grimley playing? Said he was only going to be out for 1-2 weeks a few weeks ago. Isn't on injury list as well I think.
