Essendon and Richmond meet in a clash that is simply put vital for the Dons to bounce back into form, having lost 2 of their last 3 games and having one last chance to beat a fellow top 4 side before finals having lost all three so far, and Richmond hoping to finish off their home and away season with a win having secured top spot with 4 wins in the past 5 games. Essendon are coming of an embarrassing defeat at the hands of fellow top 4 hopeful Footscray, losing by 94 points which makes Essendon's bid for second spot very doubtful with the Scrays having two of the bottom 3 in their last two games. Brayden Ham was a feature with 22 disposals in a bid to return to senior football, whilst young ruck Riley Bowman continued to toil against a more experienced opponent, still getting 30 hit outs.
