The meeting with our former alignment partners is next up, and on Good Friday at that.

Essendon have started the season with a six point loss and 14 point win, so fairly pleasing. Bendigo, while not yet suffering the complete wipeouts which characterised their 2013 season, have nevertheless still had a 47 point loss to Geelong at home and an 83 point loss to Werribee away.

The two sides met twice last year, and both were utter annihilations- 90 points at Bendigo in Round 1, and 109 points at Windy Hill in Round 15.

With the likely return of a few players who played against Freo this week as others return to the senior lineup, you'd think the VFL side will be bolstered somewhat.

Bugs= the little tacker?

Should take him/her along, what better way to introduce them to the might of our VFL side than a likely crushing win. :)

Hoping that there will be a live chat on the website like this corresponding game at the start of last season. Don't have much hope though.

I'll be there, don't get to see the future play very often. While Bendigo has improved a little I would still expect at least a 10 goal win.

Oh and don't expect a lot of Essendon listed players (wouldn't imagine any coming back from Perth at 1.30am today will be playing on Friday)

I was the interchange steward last year and doing the timekeeping this year. If I don't know there'd be something wrong. Fixture was changed weeks ago.

Live on the other side of Victoria so I can't get to it. I like to get to all the games around Casey, Frankston, Sandringham, Box Hill area.

yes our club website needs to lift it's game. The VFL fixture cards were also printed before the change too. You'll find there are often changes made the fixture during the season sometimes at short notice. We weren't even 100% Windy Hill was going to be able to used for our first few home matches with cricket being played there later than expected.
Could do with some improvement, yes. But I think it's improved quite a bit in the last few weeks.

The VFL Sporting Pulse website needs A LOT of work.

Hey guys,

I'll be heading up to Bendigo for this game.

In case you were not aware, the game now begins at 2:30pm instead of 6:30pm like previously scheduled.

Expecting us to have a good win here. Can see T-Bell only playing a half to three quarters of the match, and possibly play a full game next week against Sandringham, then be available for Round 7 against the Dogs.

Anyone else heading up for this game?

I'm considering it, yes.

By the way, I merged your thread with this. What we do is have the VFL thread on the main Essendon board pre and during the game, and then it gets moved to the VFL sub-board post game.

Tends to get noticed more on the main board, that's all.

Yeah mate, I'll be heading up for the weekend. Should be good. Genuinely looking forward to it (getting away for the weekend).

Looking forward to seeing how we go with TBC, Thurlow and the much improved Tagliabue who has shown some promise as a VFL listed ruck men.

A raft of AFL listed players likely to return will only see us be bolstered and put in a significantly better 4 - quarter performance against an improving Bendigo Gold outfit.

So we have brad , RickardBTB going, and possibly Doss. Anyone else thinking of heading up to the scenic Queen Elizabeth Oval?

After all, it'll be better than sitting around watching washed up TV celebs spieling about "that time on Home & Away" from like 10 years ago and getting donations "doubled if you mention it on TV" for the Good Friday Appeal.

Really hope that once VLAD goes that the AFL consider a game on Good Friday.
