Ryan was as inconspicuous as always, Cochran competed well, not sold as a key defender, would prefer on a half back. Still developing.

Thought Cochran was very good. Played a 3rd tall / loose role and had some great spoils that saved some goals. Looks to be his role.

Yup, third tall is his role. He’s not a KPD atm

Think cochranes best role is as 3rd defender/intercepting defender.

We need to start giving him more game time in the seniors, especially with Reef's future uncertain.

I would personally have him rotate with Howe every few weeks and then make it a permanent thing towards the end of the season.

We all hope reef comes back stronger but you never know with acls. So have to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

We all know the bad, but looks like the positives.are HH, Buller, West, Howes and any game where Hill is playing.

McStay and Membery had better lift their game, cause Buller and West are really pushing for selection.

Could you imagine is we finish the season with Anderson, HH, West, Buller, Howes, Steene and Parker playing regular aenior footy or pushing hard for selection. I still have hope for Allan.

He is really rough to evaluate. What do we do with him?

Ryan on a 1 yr contract with limited upside vs draftee with a potentially higher ceiling?

I would choose the later. No more carrying dead wood players on the list.

Few things to take from this.

Cochran has the potential to be our Howe replacement. He looked very good as the third tall / rebound defender today.

Howes, wowee. Looked rock solid down back and then dangerous up forward when the game was there to be won. Didn't realise he was only 20. If he can perform like this again against Box Hill next week then I'm going to be feeling good about him filling that KPD hole for us in the short term.

West & Buller. One will play next week for sure and the other won't be far off it. Incredible performances.

Swadling - Disposal still iffy but doing damn well to see so much of it. Will be a player.

Harrison - See you next week against Hawthorn

Bobby - Absolutely electric. Could be the difference in propelling us to top 8 if he plays seniors for us again this season.

This kid has a lot of potential.

This should be the goal, including getting some football into the likes of Cochrane, Swadling and even Allan. Getting games into these kids whilst we still have guys like Howe, Pendles, Sidey on the ground will fast track development and give us some more to build on.

Just doesn’t seem proactive enough for me. Has some skill, though I find he’s not imposing or damaging enough.
Not certain there is gonna be greater uptick.

Literally every post is about Allan. Even when he plays well he needs to talk the bloke down. The poor guys probably going to be delisted at the end of the year, but it would be nice if people would just lay off him.

I would like to see Cochrane given a chance at AFL level. Surely West deserves a chance too, given how poorly our AFL forward line is performing.

Harvey Harrison deserves a call up soon. We could definitely use an injection of speed and toughness in our AFL side.

Parker seems to get overlooked often. Must be deflating for him as he's clearly above VFL level.

If it's a case of we have enough small/medium defenders.... why aren't the coaches being a bit creative with the positioning of players like IQ and N. Daicos? Surely Quaynor, draft pick 13 isn't going to just be a 15 disposal back pocket that plays better than that once a month?

Howes did well today as a key back. Needs to keep stringing good performances together and he too may get a call up as his body is ready.
