A better game, but still the same sloppy mistakes.

Would like to see him direct the ball better when handballing and kicking to teammates. He is too sloppy/casual with his disposal. Defensively he is still very poor. For example, click the following link and watch him make a half hearted effort to prevent the opposition player from getting the ball. What's his excuse here? Just don't feel like defending, someone else can do it?

Press play at 1minute and 45seconds into the 4th qtr or 1:33:25 into the video.

Soon after that 1:33:54 , the poor handball to Taj Woewodin, where he has to jump and almost lands behind him which you CANNOT do at AFL level as it results in opposition goals. 1:46:44 another high hadball, forcing Swadling to jump to have to 'mark' it. Again, you can't be this sloppy at AFL level.

1:36:00 - boundary throw in, blind freddy could see the Box Hill Ruckman was going to gain posession, and Allan just leaves his opponent unattended to receive a handball. Seems like he is not present mentally in the game.

When he has space to run he can be damaging. Problem is he's not improving the basics which unfortunately for him (and us supporters), won't bode well for him at AFL level where there's limited time and space.
Can you pinpoint the Ed Allen goals for me please, I’d like to see if they’re any good.
Thanks in advance

He did the Jordy side skipping, chest out goal celebration after one of them - that had me sold.

I want Allan to succeed but he needed desperately to round out his game. In general the reserves players have not been dominating games and performing consistently. Just my opinion. Allan is taking steps. Magnificent. Now is he rewarded/promoted or left to develop more/made hungry? Another option for the team. I like Anderson and Long, not sure how they all fit.

I think he might even play mid this week. We can't throw Pendles, Long and Anderson at Smith and Holmes - they'll be gone like Kaiser Soze straight after stoppage. Might go with Crisp instead though.

Looks like the Hawks voting panel may have used the same votes as they gave for the Club based voting!

I'm a bit surprised that Bobby didn't get a vote.

why would he? He barely was sighted in the first half, he got better as the game went on and only ended with 7 touches. You had to get the pill a lot more as a small forward to have real impact on the game.
