So all 3 held out?
Seems like overkill on the caution front with the Freo game coming up.
Allan, in particular, should be playing every VFL- mid minute he can right now, I reckon.
Yes, all 3 are out, and it's definitely overkill! Hayes is still on the bench, and seems to be another one who's 'resting'!

And I agree, Allan needs to be playing.

No. 51 looks a big strong unit down the backline. De Bolfo I think?

Looks to have nice skills ( apart from one pass straight to oppo! ) and plays with good awareness and discipline.

Physically looks like Dan McStay.

Anyone know where he’s from, or much about him?

Given their dominance, we've done pretty well to boot a few goals that quarter, and to be trailing by only 25 points at 1/2 time.

I know he's not the great Tony DeBolfo's son but that's about it

Smit - much more competitive than Steene in the ruck. Kicked a late shot. Not impossible he develops into an AFL level ruck.
Steene - will not be a fulltime ruck at AFL level. If he's going to make it, it'll be as an inside-50 mark and part-time ruck. I'm a bit sceptical, tbh. Also, gives away too many dumb free kicks.
DeMattia - Had a purple patch where he got three clearances in about 5min (all from Smit, I reckon), and got first hands on another couple but couldn't clear. Maybe he needs to play onball? Livelier than I've seen him previously.
Parker - nondescript
Dean - grew into the match. Don't see much AFL future for him. But playing pretty well in an under-siege defence.
Ryan - nondescript
TJ - burned the ball two or three times in Q1. (Not sure that the players upfield were giving the ballcarrier a lot to kick to, tho.) If he's going to be an AFL defender needs to show much more urgency in his defensive running/pressuring.

The VFL-listed boys
Mason - dropped a couple he'd expect to take. Not great service tbf.
Brown - scrapped a couple of goals. But I'm not that convinced by him as a MSD prospect.
Glover - Another neat game.

More about their ruckman being off the ground.
I've watched the entire game and despite only rucking maybe 40% of it Smit is beating both of the oppo rucks. I don't think they like his leap, aggression or left handedness. Then he gets sent forward again or taken off the ground for a rest. I'd just leave him on and send Steene forward (where he seems more at home also)...and let Smitty do his stuff.

Otherwise their mids just walk it out of any clearances.

Had a quick look:
Late starter from Heidelberg to U18 - played as a 19 yo at the Knights (vice captain); then was at Box Hill for 2 or 3 years before joining us.

Steeney's really having a go this quarter (good on him) and how funny was Charlie Dean chasing that bloke who missed??
