Some of Saxena’s body work and football smarts I did not expect. A wonderful project player.
TJ and Allan had major brain fades.
I wanted Howes left forward. Points to the pies and dunce cap to me. He had a couple of moments. A handfull of
games and Geelong makes it very good. So much to work with.
Allan, Ryan and HDM are getting more of it. Ryan was a bit better than expected. HDM found the ball immediately on return. It feels like a participation award to the three rather than advancing to the next stage.
West soon.

Knevitt and Stevens were both offered one year contracts but would probably be an upgrade of Allan and HDM.

Some very positive signs in some of our kids. West, Howes, McCarthy and Saxena will feature heavily next season I reckon.

Ryan is looking better every week. Was using it well yesterday despite the conditions.

Swadling is the big watch for me though. It's one thing to get his hands on it a lot (HDM) but his ball use is improving every week which to be honest I thought would take a lot longer. Starting to look very composed.

I hope that you are right with your faith or optimistic attitude with HDM. However I have a bigger problem with the FOOTBALLING DEVELOPMENT of the newer & younger players on our list say compared to other teams such as our most recent oponent in Geelong. OK. I am wondering if anybody on this site can tell me who is the HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT at the club? We just seem to be lagging badly in this area when it comes to quite a few players who have been on the list for 2, 3 or 4 years. I do not seem much improvement not only skill-wise but also in terms of football IQ & decision-making. Then again maybe the club has just made the wrong selections when it comes to recent drafts. Good point. Tew Jiath is a case in point. 3 years and same issues with disposal, decision making both offensively and defensively. Runs to silly positions which often aren't to the team's advantage.

I think it's a combination of poor drafting choices and poor development.

lliro Smit - Looks lost when playing. Not sure this was realistic drafting. Surely there are better prospects out there to invest a category B spot on.

Charlie West hard done by. Our delivery into F50 was awful. Conditions were difficult and he kicked 1/2 of our goals off limited opportunity.

I would love to see him play against West Coast at the MCG.

Our season is cooked. Our list has more holes than Swiss cheese. Just play the kids and give them senior exposure. Don't waste this opportunity and make the hard choices with the more senior players.
