Keep HDM in the midfield. Has not a winger

On better conditons, I'd like to see them persist with cochran on the wing. Its fascinating. His running, speed and endurance I can understand it.

Agree. Cochran doesn't look like a KPP to me. Despite his height, he looks like a runner, a ballcarrier. My suspicion has been that a running halfback is his go, but can definitely see how his skillset would appeal on a wing.

So the club played Ali to get him qualified for the MSD last week and played him again today. What do we think, I didn’t think much of his game. He really didn’t want to get involved and stood out a lot. Looked like a kid playing with men which I guess he was so I can give him a break for that and that he’s relatively new to AFL, apparently has a basketball background. Anyway there’s probably better more seasoned players that we can draft.

So the club played Ali to get him qualified for the MSD last week and played him again today. What do we think, apart from the racist commentator calling him Jaith for more than half the game I didn’t think much of his game. He really didn’t want to get involved and stood out a lot. Why was it racist getting him confused? I get Browne and Hayes mixed up a lot, sometimes. Same as glover and Dean from a distance. Strange comment.

He was ok. Not sold on taking him in the MSD

I get the potential that clubs would like in Ali, he'd be a very raw prospect, and I think would be him and TJ would be too alike, very similar roles and athletic profiles.
Wouldn't be my first option

I'd go with A key forward or defender with our first pick
and Browne with the 2nd.

what makes the commentator racist? I mixed them up as well.

How many defenders in the VFL playing as well as Dean today? Just an open question Jen as I’m not sold there’s really any that are standouts over and above Dean as depth.

I’d def take Browne. Like what he does. Kicking still a bit iffy

Yeah, not too many standouts. And I'm not going with Tomlinson, as I don't think we'll go for players for 6 months. Mccartin talk has faded off.

Sure Browne's kicking has a bit of work, but didn't stop us with Long. I think he has a lot of attributes that would suit us. He can play multiple positions too. He plays above the level, and we're clearly looking at him (and Mason, though they may expect him to be off the board)

My main takeaway is that HDM isn't done just yet. Looked damn good on ball.

We also have a bunch of guys that should play footy this year. West, HDM, Jiath, Dean and Ryan could fill a role if needed. These guys are learning the system and when the time comes, they're capable.
He always looks better in the midfield. The experiment of putting HDM on the wing needs to stop. He’s at home in the centre and was very good today against a team that hadn’t lost a game

I wish I could get excited about HDM - all I see is a booming left foot kick.
He’s unexceptional in all other facets of the game.
What am I missing?

Was very good today. Won a lot of contested footy, set up some goals.

I’m normally critical myself.

He’s been poor on the wing in the past. Don’t know why they’ve stuck him there. Solid block of games in the centre and will give us more insight

Really interested in how much potential he has in this role. Does he look like he can be better than for example Fin Macrae as a comparison?

Need more games in the centre to really judge him. TBH I liked Macrae early on, but his lack of speed and contest eventually hurt him. HDM has reported speed. Haven’t seen it on show that much to date however.

Long way to go but was pleased as I’ve been disappointed this season. Ryan is another who stood up today. Two I’ve wanted to kick on. Hopefully they can
