This year is just getting him use to footy again, he will play a few VFL games and next year we hope for a few AFL games.... Still only 18

As they've advised - he's available to play VFL at any time, so if we want to give him a run we can

But this seems a smarter option than throwing him in the deep end to quickly

Tsapatolis played a practise match for the Western Jets last week he got 8 disposals and 24 hit outs...That is so good for us that he can play in the u18s

Not sure I agree with it in principle. Another kid looking for his chance to be drafted should be playing in that comp.

Jarvis sucks. Couldn't get near it in the pre-season games. Jenkins is the obvious Rohan replacement.

Only if we want to not ruck blitz otherwise we have any number of smalls to replace rohan with (close et al).

To be fair 19yos routinely play as overagers in TAC so this is no different except he is already on a lisr and hes behind the other kids as he has missed lots of footy.

We need another way to score. The current strategy of lumping it forward and getting it out of bounds and letting Hawkins manhandle a ruck and score from stoppage is great, but as happened with Nankervis in Grand Final, if Hawk is contained it is hard to score.

Can’t wait to get Esava back but let’s see if Krueger can pluck a contested mark forward, or Henry if they want Krueger back.

Jarvis is more of same I reckon.

You dont bring kreuger in to play a position that he hasnt played all pre season that seems a recipe for failure to me.

Thanks for bringing sensibility to the Kreuger discussion

and thats the issue to my mind...its a bit like Father sons in a way but everyone does get to bid on them still
Presumably the Jets accepting means they haven’t got guys lining up to play ruck.

Jackson Thurlow? Didn’t even realise the Swans cut him.

Yep

And just another former Cat to return to the region when their AFL careers appear to be over - the club must be doing something right that even guys we've moved on are happy to return to play VFL down the track

Nicholas Burke is that the same one we had on our list a few years ago?

don't think so, guessing it may be this guy who signed with us last year, announcement made March 11 2020 (just before everything shut down)

GEELONG has ventured outside its traditional recruiting sphere by signing Sandringham Dragons product Nick Burke to its VFL list for 2020.

Burke will remain in Melbourne this year and travel as much as 15,000km from the bayside region to train and play state league football.

The committed Cat will also be aligned with GFL club St Joseph’s.
