you arent going to find teh solution in a wellingham, cook, stanley....
Burns', particularly as captain is 100 times more then what his stats indicate after the game! he will be a big plus next week (here's hoping!!)
some say that captain is the most important position on the ground!!

Of course Burns is the most important to come in. If he is ready that we'll all welcome him with open arms. But we need someone like Wellingham - youth, pace, skills - to replace someone like Holland.

From memory Burns took 3 years before he played a senior game and was no whirl beater to begin with. So our solution is in the above at the moment and it will take time. Wellingham is no in and under player no is Cooky!!!!

McCarthy may be in and under and Stanley could be (but his ability to actually clear needs to be improved) but that is the #1 area we need to improve in, forget ruckmen, forget defenders, we need inside mids.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that was because he stayed in SA for a couple of years to work on his game. That was not uncommon at the time.

Also he may not have been a world beater, but he did more than enough to hold his place in the team from the start.

I can't believe what I am hearing...the broadcast went straight from the footy without any warning half way through the last quarter to the ice hockey......What sort of crap broadcasting it that?

Also we are playing witches hats today. They are a stand alone team and have no AFL listed players. It really isn't a challenge to show how we can play on good opposition. So everyone should be looking good and playing well. It isn't rocket science !!!!!!!! The real test will be in a few weeks against Geelong again. Let's see who stands up again to them !!!!!

Geelong are playing crap this year in the VFL anyway. You can only beat who you play, and seeing as we are a new team and have pretty poor VFL listed players (Carmody is ok, Jurrah seems to be a livewire, McDonald, Licuria and Walsh or ok too but that's about it) and we have the worst defense in the VFL (Thoolen and Casey-Leigh may be AFL listed but they are very very raw) any victory will do.

No Wellingham isn't an in and under player, however he is a centre square midfielder (which doesn't mean in and under necessarily) and is not afraid of the physical contest.

Would like to see him come in against Essendon - we need as many runners as possible against them next week - but don't think he did enough today.

Not quite right - The ONLY reason it took Burns until the third year from when he was drafted was that he decided to stay with his SANFL club, Norwood, for an extra 2 years after we drafted him - out of a sense of loyalty to his club (and the SANFL was a lot stronger back then). This just shows his strong team loyalty ethos and his strength of character.

FTR - He was a star with Norwood in those 2 years, and took no time to find his niche with Collingwood once he arrived. The only thing that held him back were persistant injuries for awhile.

Are we winning the ice hockey and have we scored any goals under a powerplay?

GOAL! What a one timer from Thomas. He's the next Gretzky!

Speaking of ice hockey, if Cousins makes a great return and wins a cup with us will it be called the miracle on ice?
