No mention of Walker for Carlton? His skills and class were on display nearly every time he touched the ball. A couple of goals to his name too. I though he was close to BOG for sheer effectiveness. Bowyer looked good but he ran in for cheap goals. I didn't think he did too much around the ground. Clark was, well..... Clarke :p

Blake and Spencer our best, I agree. But Byrne? He worked hard but his turnovers by hand killed us. Houston, we have a problem and it's called "skill errors"!

Would Haynes, Blake and Spencer all be in line for a possible call up this week? Haynes' 10 goals in 2 weeks, Blake to replace King and Spencer for a big strong CHB although I don't like him against Reiwolt.

Bit of a worry sometimes these best player lists from the VFL. From the games I have seen I never agree with them. Walker was a class above everyone on the ground and was easily best on ground.
Ablett looks a bit disinterested which is a shame. He seems 2 or 3 years off to be honest.

Totally agree mojo31 Spencer was beaten all day and that captain of ours Byrne, I would almost say he was their best, every kick and handball he had never went to our players it went to players wearing red or along the ground.
Its about time they put Buckland out on the wing thought he battled hard all day,
Blake great ruck work, but Blakey do something around the ground,
Nathan, don't think he will come back next year,
Prismall, to busy looking at what is coming at him, and doesn't make great decisions with the ball, he turned it over a lot with bad decisions,

RE VFL 'best' - I think they look at the highlight packages or something....
RE Walker - yes, I had him as BOG - I don't even know why he was there in the first place- far too good for that level.
RE Ablett - yes..... disinterested is how I'd describe it too. The guy is an absolute unit (I've stood near him a couple of times), he is very agile and extremely skillful, yet he got pushed aside so easily at different times... it's almost like he's playing to a level that he believes is all he's capable of, yet when I watch him play (as earlier in the year at Princes Park) I see someone who could smash the opposition if he truly wanted to. I know he's struggled with fitness (knee and consequently aerobically he's not fit enough) but, yes, it looks like he's not interested.
