Round 10: Practice match vs GWS, The Hangar, 13/07/2019 @ 10.30AM

As the GIANTS AFL Women's program continues to grow, the club is pleased to announce it will field a team in the VFL Women's competition in 2019.

As the VFLW's 14th team, the GIANTS won't play for premiership points, rather they will play as an 'invitation team'.

The team, to be coached by GIANTS AFLW senior assistant coach Roger Moten, will play five games against Victorian clubs from May to July.

All five of GWS's VFLW games will be played away. So far they've defeated all of their opponents, flogging Williamstown and Melbourne Uni as well as a reasonable win over Richmond.

Williamstown 2.2 (14) def. by GIANTS 13.15 (93)
Richmond 2.3 (15) def. by GIANTS 6.7 (43)
Melbourne Uni 1.0 (6) def. by GIANTS 15.14 (104)

I suspect this won't be pretty for us, practice match or otherwise.

Worth noting that Melbourne Uni rested all their AFLW (Nth Melb) listed players in that last match.

All being well, WARFRadio will have both a radio call and Facebook video stream of the game.

I was looking at GWS's list. It's basically entirely AFLW players. So perhaps who you put on the park is pretty moot, might as well rest a few :p And obviously not for points either so

No club twitter, no articles on the club website, no teams, nothing. Considered a bye as far as the VFLW website is concerned.

Only this radio stream you mentioned.

Final score:
GWS: 5.13 43
ESS: 1.3 9
