That literally happens to geelong every year. Earned home prelim final this year. Play it at hawthorns home ground and city. Atleast bulldogs are from the same city. Geelong isnt.

Geelong are gifted FIVE games per season at the MCG though - they are basically a pseudo-tenant!

This is over double the exposure to the MCG "same city" clubs like Dogs (2 games) and North (1 game) receive.

When did the MCG games start actually? Cats fans could you enlighten us? I recall going a Hawks vs Cats game at docklands back sometime around 2003/2004 (Chapman destroyed us and Lekkas did his achilles). When did that arrangement change?
