How good was his match saving mark followed by his first big hoof of the night! Cleared the pack on the wing leading to dustys goal. Needs to pull the 70m bomb out more, Carlton had no idea
It was good to not see him use it that often. Thats the reason why Carlton had no idea.
If he can limit it to once or twice a game than side wont know how to or when to defend it

I really think he should have taken a couple of kick ins in that last quarter, we really needed to clear the area

I agree to an extent and wouldn't want him to do it every kick, just think such a weapon needs to be used a few more times than once a game.

So can we fit them all in the side?

Here are our tall stocks

Defenders:
Rance, Grimes, Astbury, Chaplin

Ruck:
Maric, Hampson

Forward:
Jack, Griff, Vickery.

I just think that the other ruckman needs to be able to go Back or Forward at stages. Maric can do both but I'm just not sure there is space in the side for four talls at one end. Thoughts?

I would say no. Only because if you look at the whole side and not just the talls, which midfielder will be dropped to fit them in. We are already bitching about certain players not being best 22. The inclusion of two genuine ruckmen makes it even harder.

Chaplin?

I think you're right. At the end of the day the odds of all being fit are quite slim so at least adds a bit of flexbility

Griff was down at Blackburn Footy Club for the jumper presentation day, he gave the bag of balls he won for the club when he kicked his supergoal.
Looked strong & confident, didn't strut around or anything - huge improvement from him coming, massive bonus.

I was behind the cheer squad and it was interesting to watch how they used the three talls. Lots of zig zagging movement to make tio hard for teh defence and they tried to usually have TV or Jack at FF, with Griff further out. Seemed to work well when we had good entry. But in teh secodn half it sucked badly - entry that is.

TV was excellent, missed a few marks and goals, but did really well. And when he leads he is so dangerous. I hope he keeps that mix of leading and waiting for teh bomb up. Makes it hard to defend against.

Griff was good, but often looked a bit lost/unsure out there. He really has size and talent, which he showed a few times. Give him a year or two, and confidence and we have a winner. He looks like (surprise surprise) a young guy still learning. Lot to like.

The worst of the 3 to me was Jack. He often seemed to mistime his leads and get stuck in the pocket. I reckon he is just not quite clicking. He could easily have gotten more marks and goals (especially when he was taken out front on right in frotn of the goal - we scored anyway. But what the hell was that umpire??). I think Jack is just finding it hard ATM. But he can jump still, showed that, can move well, just needs to get his mojo back.

Overall I reckon it is TV and Griff ... and Jack. They work well when we move the ball in OK. Get them more used to one another and they will continue to create holes to lead ion and cause mismatches deep.

It was a free kick. Edwards took advantage and fell on his arse.

reckon this is why Jack is lighter and playing up the ground - they want to turn him more into a mobile HFF and then have TV and the resting Hampson/Maric up deep forward

griff was down back in the last qtr at bit - took very good marks down there. i like the idea of him starting up fwd but I like the way he has responded to being thrown down back. Looks more comfortable there than say Ty or jack.
His field positioning, marking etc were great. ....I'm impressed so far.

Care to name which players in the AFL kick 4-5 goals every week? Not many in the history of the game
Care to show me where I said he needs to kick 4-5 goals a game.
All I want is consistent performances every week , not once a month. It's time to stand up every week!!! TV is now a senior player, he no longer needs training wheels. No more excuses & that goes for most of the squad, if we expect to be pushing top 4. Unless you are happy with inconsistent performances, that we are prone too.

To me this is where he needs to step up. We know he can produce A grade performances. But once a month is a bit inconsistent to me. I reckon he is primed to produce at a high level consistently now. He is older, bigger, more experienced and more confident, and JR is no longer the only 'good' option. If he can produce at what he has started at we are look at 3 goals a game. That would be amazing!! It's what I reckon his ability is at. If he does that we are a top 8 team. Add in good performances by Griff and JR and we are top 4. (Given Cotch and Lids don't play like their second halves against the Blooos)

What a pathetic statement !!!!

23 yo 77 games KPF/Ruck ------- How is TV now a senior player
how many kpf/ruck players with less than 100 games and 23 years old have been classified as senior players

I suggest you go back to some players for comparisons at the same age and compare , You might be pleasantly suprised at how well TV has done considering he has been played alot more Ruck than any of the other 3 i mentioned AT THE SAME AGE
Kurt Tippet - 2010
Westhoff - 2009
Roughead - 2010

So your happy with some of the performances he has put up in the last couple of years, I'm certainly not. If we want to be a top team we need players like TV to step up to the plate now. The 1st few years, I understand there will be inconsistent performances & that's fine. Yet if we are to become a top 4 team, players need to take it to the next level. For me TV & players that are in the 80-120 games bracket are the ones we need to take us to that level.
Yet if you are happy for The RFC to continue to accept spasmodic performances from our players that need to step it up, then so be it. I'm certainly not.

Dude , SERIOUSLY
Ty is a 23 yo kpp every single one of the player i have mentioned would of put up the same type of performances that you are having a go at Ty for
You are expecting him to perform at a high level for long periods - With KPP that rarely happens until they are 25/26

Pick out your favourite 10 players that play similar roles to Tyrone and check out their statts at the age of 23 , You will find that Tyrone is tracking well and with the improvment in Ben Griffiths and our team he will become more dangerous and difficult to matchup on.

You are being way too hard on the Kid, Just about any team would snap him up in a minute

All I am looking for is consistency, I don't expect him to be a star at 23. What I am looking for is for him to take his game to the next level. At 25-26 is when you would expect him to dominate games nearly every week.

If you include the preseason matches, Ty has been pretty consistent so far this season and it was only the Gold Coast game that was the anomaly.
