The only explanation would be they had the squad picked a long way out - you'd surely want to get a look at Matt Short in higher honours ahead of potential white ball squad representation. The fact he's now leapfrogged McSweeney's runs and average says that was the logical player he'd be ahead of.

I don't think so. We usually see St Kilda get Harris, Handscomb etc back for finals.
