Has anybody had any trouble with their club memberships? I know my family and I purchased our club memberships back in December, and we have just received our tickets yesterday. To make matters worse, we took the away package reserved seat option at Colonial Stadium, and paid up in December only to get seats in the very last row. Needless to say we're not happy. As much I love watching the Roos play, we are fourth generation Kangaroo supporters, and have no intentions of buying anymore memberships for the North Melbourne Football Club. Has anybody else been treated this poorly by their club??

Some Brisbane Lions members in Queensland purchased their tickets in December and are just beginning to receive theirs now. As a Victorian member I received mine about three days before the Brisbane Lions vs Carlton match on the Monday of Round 1. I think there are three main reasons for this situation occurring. (in the Lions' case!)
1) the AFL's bar-coding requirements for tickets has caused delays
2) the early start to the season has caught some clubs out. There's been less time in the off-season to organise and prepare and there have been some fairly hefty changes to membership ticket requirements such as the bar-coding.
3) In Queensland's case the Gabba extensions have meant that all the seating arrangements have changed and this has taken some time to re-allocate reserved seating.

It's not North Melbourne's fault for our away seats at Colonial. Like you, I'm up at the back as well. All the good seats in the lower levels have been taken up by suits, AFL members, and the home club allocation. If you were at Colonial last night, you would've noticed that there were several sections on the 2nd tier on one side of the ground almost completely empty. Lastly, I think it was Ticketmaster that allocates the seats, so it really was out of the club's hands.

I think that with all the problems they were having getting Colonial Stadium ready a lot of clubs were left twidling their thumbs waiting for details on which seats they could get for their members.
I went to the North/Geelong game last night (Im a North Pagans Patron) and our seats were in L1 Aisle 4 (Bottom level near the Southern goals). These seats arent too good in my opinion. We ended up moving up to level 4 where the view is much better.
Colonial isnt much of a stadium:
* There must be 500 seats behind the pilons in the corners of L4 (including tv screens) where you can only see 50% of the ground. Imagine getting finals tickets there.
* Getting to Spencer St Station after the game with 35,000 others over that one bridge is a nightmare.
* There is not one public telephone in the whole stadium.

,but at least North won.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind sitting up on Level 4, but it is going to be a bit hard to get my parents up to the last row. Fair enough, we can catch the lift up to Level 4, but it is climbing the stairs to the back that is going to kill them. I think I will take your advice ccridley and put them in seats a bit closer to the front in Level 4.
