Victorian Covid Outbreak 2021

Shocked totally shocked

The most insane thing about this was that this was always right in the open in the rollout plan prior to the NSW outbreak - the outbreak just helped them accelerate it. NSW was always allocated substantially more vaccines than its share of the population at the expense of other states.

It was the most incompetent thing Andrews has done in this whole saga. Dan rolled over and let ScoMo shaft him to help out his NSW buddies without a fight, declaring that he had no problem with NSW taking all the vaccines. Just absolutely pathetic, gutless leadership.

At the very least you make ScoMo pay a political price for acting as the Prime Minister of NSW, even if you can't change the policy. Dan couldn't even do that.

Bit of a joke given Werribee is pretty bloody close to Geelong, yet Geelong opens up a d Werribee doesnt
There will always be disappointments like that. The Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley! But you cant lock up a genuine regional area like Geelong just because it is 45km from Werribee.

Why not? What make Geelong a "Genuine Regional Area"? It's completely arbitrary!

a. It is not physically connected
b. It is not part of the electrified rail line, but the regional rail service
c. It is located 75 km from Melbourne
d. Nobody in Geelong considers themselves to be part of Greater Melbourne and vice versa
e. Geelong has its own economic and planning bodies

a: Neither is the Mornington Peninsula there is a gap between it and Frankston.
b: Neither is the Mornington Peninsula the electrified rail line only goes as far as Frankston which isn't part of the Mornington Peninsula.
c: Mornington which is at the northernmost end is 70km from Melbourne.
d: irrelevant
e: irrelevant

FYI Frankston is not a part of the Mornington Peninsula and it could be argued that Frankston isn't part of Melbourne either but a neighbouring city.

Mate I don't think Mornington Peninsula should be considered part of Melbourne, and I sure as hell know Geelong isn't either. Take your fight up with Dan

Geelong is clearly geographically separated from Werribee, Melbourne to Portsea is basically suburbia the whole way apart from a small gap between Mt Eliza and Mornington where the golf club is.

Also stops all those rich folk from Brighton and Toorak fleeing to their Sorrento and Portsea beach houses.

Apologies for trash website but here's an article worth reading. Lockdowns back on the table in the UK :

Yeah no one has promised no lockdowns even the Doherty report included lockdowns. Anyone that think no more lockdowns is an idiot not paying attention.

At least you’re honest🥴
Just so we're clear I'd prefer the line was where it is for Geelong but moved between Frankston and Mornington for the Mornington Peninsula. Frankly it would probably be fair to make the line the Patterson River / Thompson Rd / Western Port Hwy, some would probably say Mordialloc Creek or Kananook Creek. I'd take just MP Shire excluding Mt Eliza which should be part of Frankston.
