4 more years of god giving george w directions and controlling his policies woopie do.

Btw seriously, channel 9 and 7 all day, surely it isnt that important to us who wins, we trully are an american state, im surprised they didnt allow us to vote along with the americans.

So the couple of howard and bush marches on, at this rate the 2 of em could blow up half the world and get up in their respective countries.

Still cant believe he pulled it off i thought kerry had him.

I think your right. Its a solid victory for the christian god.
I think the Christian God is trying to decide whether to become a bit more interventionist as he is getting so badly misrepresented by US Christian right.

I'm struggling to come to terms that this war-mongering idiot has won a second term. All this shows is that people don't care for their fellow man - by all means lets invade their country (and on what basis I might ask other than that lame regime change - which was never originally mentioned) and kill a few people. All this has done is made sure that more terrorist attacks are on the way. I wonder what people will think in 50 years time...

The positive - in 2008 we will have another Clinton in the White House.

I agree it was a victory for the lovers of freedom. Not because Bush got elected but because someone got elected through a democratic and (arguably) free process. An election is a celebration of democracy and the freedom of people, regardless of who is elected.
But that is not the point. Clearly to the original poster a Kerry victory would have been defeat for Lovers of Freedom.

I don't know if there's a God or not (I hope there is), but I think it's safe to say that if you hear a voice telling you to kill or maim, it's probably not him.

This is the ultimate proof that Americans ARE smarter than Spaniards.

This is the ultimate proof that despite the left-wing controlled media telling us what to think and convincing themselves that Kerry would win (just as they did with Latham), the public is smarter than that and have minds of their own.

I'm moderately right wing, I voted Howard mainly because I was pretty happy with the job he's done on a domestic level... and I'm horrified to see that it looks as though Bush will get up.

By every single possible objective measure I've seen, he's been an appalling president. The thing I find most difficult to understand about this result is that he's failed comprehensively on domestic policy, and ditto on foreign policy- OBL is still at large, the entire Iraq war has degenerated into a bloody shambles thanks to poor planning, what exactly has he done right?

Apparently its not the economy, stupid, and it isn't foreign policy either.. its um... well ******** me i don't know what it is.

kerry never had him i predicted it all along ...

kerry was an equally bad candidate ... he is a jewish liberalist american, married to one of the richest women in america (HEINZ) family, claiming he is a democrat ... he flip flops on issues, similar to mark latham and quite rightly was no competition to bush (which is saying something!).

im not a bush supporter by any means but i dont have the problem with him many of you guys seem to ... he gets a lot of bad press ... but kerry is equally if not more a bad candidate.

the only way for the demo's to win is for hillary to run i reckon?

what i do have a problem with is ignorant people like yourself claiming howard is an arse licker of bush!!!! you are the type of ignorant fool who was brainwashed by the moronic mark latham!!!!! im sure you didnt read that bush asked howard recently for the deployment of more troops, what did howard do???? he refused to send ne more!!! this just shows he is not a puppet of bush!!!

howard is one of the greatest prime ministers we have ever had ... we need a strong alliance with the united states for us to survive ... had latham got in thank god he didn't he would have set about destroying this allians along with it our international relations!!!!

howard is a strong man who does whats right for OUR nation ... he has our NATIONS interests at heart ... remember he wasn't the man who plonked a left wing rocker or bent over and took it in the arse from bob brown to get votes!!!! i think ull find mr latham is more of an arselicker than howard!!! :D

So let me guess this straight..had Kerry have won (and remember, there are at least 40 legal challenges to come!) then Freedom would have been defeated?

Long bow to stretch there.

Had Kerry have got up...would someone with his military experience been an asset in the "war on terror"? Just a thought.

It has to be a victory for freedom. The head in the sand attitude of Clinton and the democrats stopped the problems of Iraq and Al Quaeda being nipped in the bud. Kerry would have created a short term respite but how long would it have been before another 9/11?

Bush has won with a landslide popular vote...just like Howard. Like him or not, most people have shown their preference for him.

Erm, Kerry's a Catholic.

claiming he is a democrat
What makes him not a democrat?

and quite rightly was no competition to bush (which is saying something!).
No competition? So why are the networks still not calling it?

She'll be in the 2008 primaries I bet. I don't she is the best the Democrats have however.

*whole heap of other rubbish*

Erm, Clinton was attacking al-Qaeda before September 11, unlike Bush the incompetent.

who the hell are you? are you an Aussie or a yank, I know your an idiot but what nationality? there are many people who do care what Michael Moore thinks, 48% voted for democrats, its just that America like Australia has many uneducated rednecks like yourself, who are too dumb to realise they are being taken for a ride

Preident Bush may have a nice little surprise for you. See transcript of Lateline last night:

http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/content/2004/s1234209.htm

and in particular

"I would prefer to focus on a surprising element of the elections I thought, enormously underargued, President Bush is far more in favour of a Palestinian state than Senator Kerry ever was.

I think the big test for him will now be to make good on his word as the first president ever to have mentioned the world Palestinian and state in the same sentence and though that might not have any direct bearing on the war in Iraq, it has an indirect bearing"

Didn't know you were a supporter of Palestinian freedom.

So MillerCHF what do you think about the 70% of Jewish voters that voted for Kerry?

Another good thread, Miller.

As I started off with Mark Latham was also quite sanguine about a Kerry win in these elections. I actually believed that W needed to pay a political price for so comprehensively stuffing up the war in Iraq by not putting enough troops in to get the job done.

But that was before the OBL tape was released and we got this outpouring of support for OBL even from people like JimBoy who ought to know better.

T'was then I realised that it was imperative that the pseuds and the Michael Moore dribblers be absolutely wiped off the political map forever.

And that's exactly what the US electorate did yesterday.

Brilliant result in Florida.

Brilliant success for W getting the greatest personal vote of any president in history.

Brilliant that the Repubs swept the Senate and the House.

Brilliant that this was achieved after an excellent Democratic campaign which made the issues so clear, and gave such a clear alternative, that there is no doubt about Bush's mandate.

Now there's scope for the Democratic Party to start growing up.
