Does anyone know who the guys that interview the players in the Victory Room are? Particularly the old fella?

Yeap - they're old Xavier toffs. One supports Saints, the other the Pies. They're into boxing I think. Howard xxxxx and xxxxx Peak. They're on SEN - gladiators of sport, after 12.00 some nights.

Not sure how they got the gig. I would've thought you'd get a dogs follower.

Why do ask?

Howard Leigh (the Pies Supporter), Stephen J Peake (Saints)

Howard Leigh has been around the Western Suburbs for yonks. Has worked for the Footscray Mail and Western Independent newspapers over a period of time. Although not a Bulldog supporter has reported on a lot of their games. Has been Ring Announcer for a number of boxing matches too.

Speaking of the Victory Room, it was mentioned in the after match that at half time Robert Stubbs had given a speech about our financial performance and the redevelopment. I didn't go in at half time, but would like to know briefly what he said. If you heard it, a brief rundown would be appreciated.

The reason I ask is that the older guy is a disgrace. They had Smorgan on, followed by Aker & Johnno. That was fine (apart from the fact that the old boy is sooooo LOUD). Then poor old Sam Power got up and a few people had started to leave by then and chat amongst themselves. Rather than just ignoring it, the old loudmouth made a point of telling people to listen to Power as if no one wanted to. The crowd are also asked to give 3 cheers at the end of each speaker and the old boy made out no one was cheering for Power. It must have been so disheartening for Sam. I felt so embarrassed. Not because I thought the crowd was treating Power badly, but the old boy made a point of acting as if they were. I know Power is much maligned by a lot of us, but no one is going to be disrespectful to the guy if his best just ain't good enough.

He's not like Wayne Campbell (who, incidentally, got a couple of boos from the crowd when he appeared on stage - which I thought was probably appropriate!)

Smorgon said the club had made a profit this year.

anyone who feels that using their middle initial makes them sound "distinguished" like this tool does is exactly that IMO...

I noticed that too, it was pretty poor...Sammy would have felt really awkward about it I'm sure.

But I was just as annoyed with the Dogs fans who wouldn't shut up, I mean come on, if you go to an interview, common courtesy says that you actually listen.

I think the timing was bad. If they had Sam Power on between some of the bigger names, I'm sure the chatting wouldn't have been so bad. Once they had all the big names on people started to leave and farewell each other - that's where all the noise came from.
