Polkinghorne - what role is he actually playing? I seriously have no idea. I had thought he was a defensive midfielder but he didn't seem to be matching up much on anyone and he certainly was not winning the ball much at all. I see him as the one keeping Beams out of the team and anyone who watched the match would have to question why Polks is the preferred player.

I was sitting on the first level on the wing where he kept lining up on Gibbs. He would go one way and Gibbs the other at every bounce. I watched him rather intently and he was unable to get his own ball or even quell his man. One play really stood out where Gibbs wrong footed him on the forward 50 and Polks fell for it instead of holding his line to stop Gibbs coming inside to his right boot which resulted in a long Gibbs goal, plain dumb. There was no evidence to suggest that he was playing defensive; he was playing attacking away from his direct opponent and still couldn't get the ball.

Lacks confidence but I don't thinkthat is his only problem.

That stood out to me too. He should never have let him get past on the inside. Much better to force him wide on his left. Dumb footy is right.

That's good that Harwood wasn't cited either, cos it looked like he got Robinson back a good one and then with how groggy the grub looked later I figured he was going to get done by the dreaded "consultation with Carlton medical team".

Reckon Zorko may have an injury..didnt move like we know he can...possessions down but his trademark huge tackling count was hugely down....may be rested ????

I'd say he is probably tired.

Rumour has it calrton players stink, so the boys were reluctant to get too close to them. :p

When you watch the replay with that in mind a lot of the stuff we did in the 3rd Q makes sense.

Robinson lucky not to get suspended. He did punch Harwood after all. Maybe insufficient force.

Yep, insufficient. Was in the full MRP report. Can't kick, can't wrestle, can't punch.

"Vossie emphasised spirit before the game and just to play with a bit of freedom and (the guys) we did that"
- Jonathan Brown (Sunday Footy Show 12th August).

For a quarter and a half.

Have you been living under a rock? Get with the program :p

Kylie tweeted about it a while back, and it was on lions.com.au.

Getting a bit old for the mod title maybe Bob? :p

I rely on valuable bits of info like that that are tweeted being reposted in the tweet talk thread - maybe I just missed it :(
