Oh poo, you're all just fuddy-duddies. :p

Just got an email saying my family and I will be walking with a bunch of other members in a lap of honour before the doggies game. :D So NONE of you can bring me down off this high I'm on!

That's awesome Kezz! Table 4 is still winning! ;) :D

And now, thanks to some spamming by my sister and myself, so is Reddo! I swear he is so cute.

Can't wait for the Club Champion function, it's going to be a tonne of fun! I won't be sitting in the corner by myself for one thing...

Nice! I did that a couple of years ago - I followed Kevin Murray around when he was inducted into the hall of fame. Didn't make it to the TV but I did give out plenty of royal waves :D

It seems that the Lions old reliance on Brown to kick a large proportion of the goals in a game is coming to an end.

There appear to be enough other potential goal scorers now that Brown's contribution might still be important to win the game but less vital to simply keeping us in the game. In the past it always seemed that without a decent contribution from Brownie we had little chance of getting close in some games.

This shows that we have travelled some distance in developing a team when we can begin to count on up to ten players to score goals reasonably regularly. We also seem to be starting to get a few more regular multiple-goal scorers now.

It is early days in a long journey but there are some signs that now we rely much less on Brown and the team is much better for it.

Hopefully the win against Adelaide points the way - it never seemed like we absolutely needed Brownie to score, we had enough other options that it honestly seemed like a goal scoring opportunity could come from any one of seven or eight players.

Now if we can just get them to kick a bit straighter as well.....

Agreed. In our three best wins of the year (IMO)

West Coast - 1 goal
Adelaide - 2 goals
Bulldogs - 0 goals

God I rated Huddo's game. His output for us this season has gone widely undervalued by the rest of the country (assuming Lions fans love him as much as I do). And I assume that's because he often gets beaten comfortably in the hitouts each week. But in my opinion, hitouts are the most worthless statistics that get recorded. I've never valued them highly.

One thing I notices is Hudson's clearance work, how often he roves his own footy as just bangs it in our direction. I consider it 10x more effective than a hitout. I took it upon myself to do some investigationing, and found that this year Huddo has averaged 5.54 while Dean Cox (random elite ruckman I chose) has averaged 2.29. If I had the time I'd go through more ruckmen, but I think he'd be well up there in the comp.

Love your work Huddo. Please kick on for one more year. :hearts:

Huddo looked a different player on Sat night to what he had in the previous few weeks. I thought he was stuffed - didn't seem to be able to break into a gallop, couldn't get off the ground when rucking or trying to take a mark. He was back to his best on Sat night though.....and we looked better for it.

Hudson is fantastic. One of the few "angry ruckmen" left.Off the top of my head , Mumford is the only other one left.Worth their weight in gold when fit and firing - Charmo being a perfect example.

I'll be very disappointed if Hudson was to retire. Could he go on the rookie list next season?

Too right, Hudson is a great role model for Billy as well. Billy has a fair bit of mongrel in him and learning to focus that aggression into getting his knees dirty. I would love to see Billy have that inside game , combined with his athletic gifts.

Id make Huddo captain of the 2's - then if Injurberger gets injured he can slot back in. Still reckon Longer will need another season.
If Huddo does retire they would be well advised to snare him as an ass coach

I think Huddo will move into a more On-Field Charman role for Leuey and Longer or how I saw it when he was first bought in. Then if injury occurred he would fill in as has done this year.

I can't see why he wouldn't want to go again another year. He seems to be loving it and enjoying the fact that he is home and is still playing and slotting well within the team. When he retired he wanted to move home so to be able to continue playing and be at home prollly given him a new lease on playing and 1 or 2 more years. IMO.

Would love him to stick around as well though.

Sounds like an interesting role. Do women's hockey teams need them at all?

You have to start with the weightlifters before you can go up to the big leagues.

I withdraw my application then. A pity, was looking forward to having a hands on approach to the job.

I withdraw my application then.

Are you sure? It will be women's weightlifting.

Possibly a wise move Jed... You are still in your current job as an equine fluffer yeah? I don't think that sort of 'experience' would translate to well on your application/CV.
