Here's the deal:

You have $100 in virtual cash. Use it to bet on teams head to head each friday at the current odds.
We will play for real in the real season (when predictions are easier) but we'll use the Ansett cup as a trial.

Remember to use a system to limit your losses (and unfortunately your winnings too) but I hope to prove that money spent this way is much more profitable than your standard tipping competition.
This is because unlike a tipping comp, if you don't like predicting a particular game - you just don't bet on it

Ess - $20 at 1.25 to win $25
WCE - $5 at 2.10 to win $10.5

I set myself a 40% maximum for each round but I don't like the look of most of the games, so only $30 total bet

By the way guys, You don't get $100 each week, the $100 has to last you the whole competition (5 weeks in the case of the ansett cup) So you had better have winners or you get no bets next week.

If it goes well then we get to start again in the 'proper' competition

If anyone knows how to frame some odds it would be interesting to compare bigfooty odds to the TAB odds.

At the moment St Kilda on Bigfooty Bet would be under money back. Not bad for last years wooden spooners.

You can join at any time, but of course you can't bet on games which are already in progress. Odds stay as per friday morning, even if they change over the weekend.
When you start you get your 'virtual' $100. But there's no coming back in if you blow your stack.

We start again for the regular season.
