Vlastuin, Miles and Cotchin would complement the shit out of each other in the guts. They remind me of Hawthorn's midfield trio of Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis. Not quick, but in and under clearance machines, that dish it out to the silky wingers. Unfortunately our dimwit coach can't see this, and will probably do the complete opposite and turn Cotchin into a back pocket.

The Hodge who has played 90% of his career at half-back? The Mitchell who spends most of his time there these days?

Also he's the only aboriginal we have isn't he? I know the young fella we have drafted is part but we have a lack of aboriginals drafted in the Hardwick era. It's very strange. Very strange.



Lol what he can't play straight away in a midfield role? What's a matter? Too soft? There's dozens of examples every year of players coming in and doing this. To play and continually play players out of positions is negligent to their development.

Instead of learning how to perform in the midfield at AFL level, Vlastuin wouldn't have the slightest.

Just started playing after recovering from his foot injury. I think he has got around 15-20p's in 2 games, but his kicking has been a standout, running of half back.

The biggest concern is his turning speed and speed off the mark from a standing start, is pedestrian and gets caught way too often. Really needs to work on his agility and explosive power so he can break away from congestion

Think he might need to work on his run a little to. Might come down to being fitter though. Too early to throw grenades around yet Imo

Agree (in general)about straight line speed, no amount of training will turn you into a Lids or Yarran, but Im referring more to power and speed off the mark - those first several steps are crucial in being able to break clear, anyone can work and improve on that

Vlastuin has been a bit off, my wife keeps telling me and I keep defending him. I have those first round pick and good first season glasses on. I think he is a bit slow and making too many mistakes at present. He either needs a change of position, a week in the VFL or a week off for injury.

Still love him though.

He had probably his best game of his career in Rd. 1, then injured his ankle in Rd. 2. I'd give him a little while before we start laying into him.

Yeah against teams like Brisbane and Melbourne we can probably carry him if he's not 100% but against Geelong, probably not.
