Does anyone know how to convert a .vmo file into an mp3?

The .vmo file is a dictaphone (voice) file recorded on my Siemens SL45 mobile phone. I've transferred the file off my phone and onto my computer, but I've got no idea how to convert to mp3.

mp3 would be the best file type, as it's a short grab from Tool's Melbourne concert a couple of months ago, which I would like to send to friends for their listening pleasure.

The .vmo file has a low bitrate (8, as opposed to 128, 160, etc for most mp3 files) but sounds pretty good, so I'd hate to lose a decent recording even though it's only short.

Anyone got any ideas, and a site link for downloading appropriate conversion software?

I don't think it is possible because it isn't a standard format or a format that would be used frequently........Therefore, there probably is no program that will convert it.

One thing you could try is just changing the file extension to *.wav, it probably won't work but it is worth a try. This way, if it works, just convert if from wav to MP3.

Cool, thanx guys! I have a wav to mp3 encoder already so I should be able to get this all sorted out tonight. I'll let you know how it all goes.
