Amateur hour at the Carlton Football Club.... again...
Someone's already said this (I think it was Doc) but the jumper vote is little more than a publicity stunt allowing the club to bring back the old monogram 'by popular demand'. Personally I don't care either way, as long as we get back to winning premierships!
Gosh darn Carlton. I buy papa homer and my godson their memberships FOR xmas. Way to not let them vote

I'd say forcing people to sign up for 2015 pretty much takes care of that. In terms of transparency this voting process is turning out to be somewhere on par with the Eurovision Song Contest.
True. I erred with the expression in my comment. My feelings are more of total indifference than support either way. Life of a Carlton supporter- perhaps my expectations of the club administration are inappropriately low.

Finally! A bigfooty poster with some common sense! Carlton are amateurs with little to no idea what constitutes fan engagement nor member retention. I'd love to love this club - but while it continues to bury its head in the sand with regard to its supporter base - I loathe it.

I do though find tricks unnecessary and particularly tricks with ulterior motives.

...and I have Harks. I've taken it up with them directly...like I do a lot of things. More than most. Whining on a forum will not get you very far.
You implied it. If you're so sanctimonious and have such an issue with people who do nothing but 'whine on a forum', why don't you just stop logging in?
You actually have gone out of your way when others just talked, so it's unfair to pot you for that.
We do though all have choices and if something doesn't taste good any more, it's time for a new diet.

I just want the club to get with the program. Most are completely oblivious to how bad Carlton is at fan engagement. It's 2014 and we're light years behind Collingwood and Hawthorn.
I don't know why it's that hard. I really don't.
We are better than we were but so is everyone else. We need a quantum leap to catch up and a Tardis to get in front.
Either we don't want to or don't have the personnel capable of doing so.

Methinks it doesn't matter a great deal to you anyway - and that's fine. I don't mind that. But the club is spinning wheels...has been for many years and will continue to do so until real change is made. The last board member we had with any clue lasted a year before quitting - and it wasn't just a case of the other guy getting the nod as Pres...
It actually does matter to me, and you're not the only one who contacts the club directly to give an opinion. But it seems to me that you just assume that everyone else on here just 'whines' and takes not action. And your self-righteous attitude has really ground my gears.
What you say has a lot of merit, but the way you've said it is condescending and rude.

Perhaps because I really want to love my club....but the closer you get you realise how ****ing amateur the whole thing is and it alters your opinion. Sorry if I come across condescending and rude - it's just that I'm pretty much at the end of my tether with both club and AFL.
I met with MLS clubs in the States this year who are doing things 100X better than Carlton. And they have similar sized membership. There's no excuse anymore. The club needs change. The fish always did rot from the head down and the fish is still rotten.

Love the website, very professional. I would have to agree that the Carlton monogram is the most recognisable and best monogram in Australian sport. As the mod of the Footy Jumpers board and de facto head of all things footy jumpers on BF, I put my support behind the fans and hope the old monogram is voted in
