I thought it'd be nice to have a place to find & share Goal of the Year, Mark of the Year and various other awards that come out through the year. I'm willing to keep this post updated with new links & updated results if people want this thread.

I have a request: Can you include the AFL website's Team of the Week as well? it does have a vote section for best midfielder, defender and forward.
In Round 1 McPharlin, Spurr, Mundy, Fyfe and Pavlich were selected.

Team of the week hasn't been announced yet, but our little Lachie Neale has earned himself a player of the round nomination for absolutely destroying the derby with 42 touches & 3 goals!

No goal of the year or mark of the year nominations this week. Unfortunately, Fyfe's zero goals weren't eligible, even though Elliot's mark of the year nomination is an almost mark that'd make Nic Nat proud.

Updated: Team of the week is out. Only 3 Freo players (lol only) but then we only really had to play 1/2 a game.

That award's so exciting & massive that it deserves its own thread

So some stats for the end of round 4 to see how we're tracking (the answer is very well)

- 22 players on 2 teams have played in 9 games per week over 4 rounds = 1584 players
- Freo make up 5.6% of those, or 88 players
- Fyfe has won 3 of the 8 possible mark/goal of the week awards. That's 37.5% of the awards despite being only 0.25% of the players eligible
- Freo have had 15 out of 88 of the players in the team of the week. 17% of the players in team of the week with only having 5.6% of the total players eligible.
- We've also had 3 players of the round nominees out of 16. Or 18.75% of the nominations

We have a new Player of the Round! Congrats Chopper Mayne on the nomination. He played an amazing game leading our forward line after Pav went down.

Fyfe's taken up residency in the Team of the Week. Just give him the Brownlow already. Mayney was again rewarded for his excellent game, along with our general in defence, Lukey Mac.

For a change, we don't have a Mark or Goal of the year, but one of the mark nominations was taken against us by Garlett. We all saw it, and it was a beauty so feel free to throw a sneaky vote at it.
