In keeping with wirra44's various polls on your favourite jumper, I will be posting a couple more focused on the corporate identity side of the WCE FC.

So, which is you favourite logo of the following 3 (thanks to Mero's footyjumpers.com):

The inaugural 1987-1996 "shield"

The 1997-1999 Eagle

The 2000 - present colour-pallete mismash

Original for sure. The main reason I am never giving up my old scarf. Much better colours in the old scarfs actually.

royal blue >> dark blue

I'm a fan of the old shields, so the first one for me. I've still got my scarf with that one on it, but it's covered in lint now so I never wear it, but I can't throw it away.

I like the style/form of our present one, but not sure on the orange red colour.
That, my friend, is an abomination known as ochre. A scourge on our society. While personally it improves the new logo itself in its minimal way, if it ever become more than a trim on any jumper again I will burn down the factory that makes them. Oh the days when we used to have the ochre / angry budgie combo. It's almost as if we would start the game 10 goals down just as punishment for wearing that shit.

Original shield ftw.

Eh? I would say a change in whats considered stylistacally fashionable.
Changing the logo would be just one part of any marketing strategy and not likely to be directly responsible for generating increased sponsorship or merchandise sales(you can change jumpers and other things for that). No I was wondering why we moved away from something with such an appealing and more balanced composition not why did we "ever" change the logo. I agree that it can be benifitial over time to do so just why move away from a shield based design.

Otherwise I hope your not saying no to changing again on the basis of it costs money because that my good sir we have plenty of. To my mind the original format competes well with Saint Kilda's, Collingwood's and Carlton's team logos (it may just be taste) which are all of a more classical and ballanced format.

Personally I LOVE the new one. It's agressive.
Quite like the original one but I always thought the way the eagle is drawn makes it look kinda ******ed. Doesn't look agressive, looks like a beanie baby or something ;)

Nice work buddy. I wonder how the new Eagle head maybe with the angle slightly adjusted would look in the shield format. It would have to be of a simialar size though.
I've been working quite a bit on exactly that, and these polls help me figure out what the people want :thumbsu:

That's my avatar in big size. Has part of the wing but I think it looks pretty good. If can get just the head in it right would look awesome, but do we really want to go back to an old school style shield?

Thats excellent! I never noticed because of the size of the small avatars.
I am also looking forward now to the final culmination of all of smeagles research:thumbsu:.

Love the current logo. It's the fiercest looking in the AFL and doesn't look dated despite being 15 years old.
