Why is it that last year (and still a little this year) Mckinley cops so much flak for his perceived lack of pressure from the forward line, yet Lecras hasn't got a single defensive bone in his body and is in everyone votes?

Don't get me wrong, i think Lecras is an outstanding player, brilliant forward, he should stay there.. not the midfield, but gives up to easily when the ball is being run out of their forward line.

Is Mckinley the forward line whipping boy?

As much as I love LeCras, couldn't agree more with this comment...His half hearted defensive efforts are woeful...Yes I know he and Kennedy work their arses off to be our only forwards but the ball is continually let out of our foward line too easily....I think a little bit of credit should be shown to McKinley who has worked harder on this area of his game...

Remains a small tall, who prefers a lead and mark game but can't kick reliably for goal until after the game is decided - then he usually scores a couple.

I disagree. I think he's changed his game a fair bit this season. He's been moving up the ground and using the ball very well, not as often as would be liked, I'll admit. He does still spend some time as a lead and mark forward, but nowhere near as much. I reckon he's on verge of becoming a very good forward.

5 - Sheppard - Played like a 5 year player, mature head and some our goals began with Sheppard's skills (Loved it when Minson tried to shrug him off, and Kerr-like kept at him winning the free kick)
4 - S.Selwood - Killed Cooney and got plenty of ball himself
3 - Waters - Another good game for our stand-in skipper
2 - LeCras - Did what he could with the minimal help he got
1 - Schofield - Loving his work this year

HMs
MacKenzie - Thought his job on Hall was very good
Strijk - Good debut, looked suited to AFL
Stevens - Tried hard, good to see he wasn't effected by the kick to the head
Dalziell - Worked harder than any of our players towards the end, our players should follow his lead

Bit late but...
5:S.Selwood - thought his hardness and ball use was good, hopefully he can move forward from here.
4: Shep - class!
3: Schoey - is steadily improving..prob our 2nd best KDP.
2: Waters - effective playing loose man in defence, dropped back in the hole to mark a few times.
1: Strijk - solid game first up, looks to know where the goals are:)
