Very strong marking, good leading down the ground, unselfish play. He was destroying them in the first quarter.

Quite often he took strong contested marks through the center and dished off to a midfielder. This was obviously his role in the team, and he did it well.

Forget that Hawkins didnt kick a goal, he never looked like losing a 1 on 1 marking contest.

I wonder if they're thinking of putting him into the middle now and then. J Brown goes into the centre every so often, Hawkins if anything is more mobile and better around his feet than Brown. I wouldn't like to see it happen often but it wouldn't hurt to have some experience in other parts of the ground. You never know when you need to pinch hit.

5. Ablett
4. Bartel
3. SJ - was great when the game was there to be won.
2. Hawkins
1 Woji - was very good today I thought.

I've only had one coffee so far this morning but here goes.......

5. Gary Ablett

Daylight

4. Matthew Scarlett
3. Matthew Stokes
2. Paul Chapman
1. Steve Johnson

Only reason I didn't give Hawkins a vote is as he faded in the second half. Brilliant in the first, and could get nominated this week with any luck.

5. Ablett - Such a pleasure to watch him play. Has to be the best midfielder in the game at the moment.
4. S Johnson - Thought he oozed class all day.
3. Wojcinski - Was his usual pacy self.
2. Stokes - Keeps getting better and better.
1. Milburn - Kept O'Keefe relatively quiet in the 2nd half when he was looking dangerous in the 1st.

The lasagna maker says to get Jimmeh into your votes or go hungry.

5- Ablett - made Kerr's game last week look absolutely shameful. He is the best mid in the comp, bar none.
4- Bartel - normally that performance would have been BOG
3- Scarlett - outstanding again.
2- Hawkins - great contested marking. Needs to take some shots, but good to see him showing strength while marking.
1- Wojak - played his best game this year. Breaking lines like he did early last year.

5. Ablett - We all know why.
4. Scarlett - B.O.G. any other day. Cool, composed and in total control.
3. Stokes - Quality all day, and like Ablett was there standing up when the game was there to be won.
2. Johnson - At his mercurial best and kicked goals when others were struggling.
1. Bartel - Top shelf as usual. No frills sort of game, but can't be ignored for a vote.
