Was far from Pendles' finest game. He made a few uncharacteristic errors by foot and didn't win a whole heap of footy either, with just 2 clearances and 6 contested possessions. I wouldn't have had him in the top 5 either.

Agree with this. Didn't find himself as much space as he likes, and had a couple of brutal turnovers. To be fair he had a game only some could dream of having, but far from his best.

Pendles got caught holding the ball once, which automatically makes it his worst game in at least a decade.

Said it in the Didaka thread, but it's pretty clear from the post match comments that Bucks gave 5 to Grundy and Ratten gave him 0. Bucks went out of his way to praise Brodie while Ratten pretty much shrugged and said he 'probably had the better of Marshall and Ryder'.

If I was giving votes for the Saints, would have included Butler.

Top 3 were clear with the order being the only subjective aspect. After that you could throw a blanket over a 1/2 dozen player. From memory I had Howe & Pendles picking up the minor placings but could just as easily opted for Crisp or Grundy or Checkers.

Butler was really good. Moore had a lot of contested possessions and the most contested marks with a good disposal efficiency and he kept his opponent goalless again. I reckon that Grundy could have scored higher.

I'm not surprised by this, I didn't have him in my top 5 personally for the Saints game. He's entitled to be off the pace every once in a while!

Likewise. Every time the ball came toward him he intercepted and launched us back into attack with real precision.
