3. Green (he has lifted, very tough and great skills, our best by far)
2. Holland (my theory is correct, if put at CHF and made to work he does well does Holland. Great game)
1. Read (he was tough and aggressive. gave away a few frees but who didnt? ********in umpires)

i refuse to give TJ votes. while he played an exceptional first half, his 2nd half effort was like the TJ of old unfortuantly. he wasnt there when the game was there to be won

3 - Green: 29 possessions, 8 marks, 6 tackles, 1 goal and a lot of physicality in his game. Much improved effort but must back it up.

2 - Holland: 21 possessions in which 12 were contested, 6 marks, 5 tackles, provided a contest all the time and set up a few first half goals.

1 - Read: 21 possessions, 8 tackles and gave us some mongrel that we so desperately need.

Carroll was fairly good, keeping Pavlich to only 1 mark (unlucky to concede 3 goals) and Ferguson proved his versatility by kicking 2 goals. Johnstone was good early but went quiet in the second half and Bruce was average as was Yze. White had a hard time in the wet conditions, McLean and McDonald provided hardness in and around the contests and Paul Johnson was good around the ground and looks promising. Sylvia and Moloney didn't see much of it, Chris Johnson got a bit of the ball but needs more matches to prove himself and Neitz got off to a good start but didn't get much delivery after that. Bizzell and Rivers did well in the contests despite not getting much of the ball, Brown got a bit of it and was alright and Whelan was quiet but beat Medhurst convincingly. Robertson had a shocker and Davey took his chances kicking 3 goals from only 10 disposals.

the umps were making me so angry!!!!

countless free kicks i dunno what the final tally was but last time i saw it was something like 25-6 just insane!!!

What about ruddy Johnno tackling a guys arm and him throwing the footy away and receiving a free kick just complete bs

The three most influential men on the ground.

And it's disgraceful that this is so. I think the free kick count was about 26-6 early in the last quarter. We finished with 13 free kicks, so the Umps managed to "even it up" a bit late. For mine, this just proves what a shocking performance by the men in white - what, did the whole nature of the game turn in the last ten minutes?? I don't think so.

Umpires are very weak men if they need the crowd to indicate for them what is or is not a fee kick.

Umpiring very rarely determines the result of a match, and I won't go as far today to say that it did, but if we could have had a couple of goals more (or Freo a couple less), the dynamics of the last quarter could have been totally different.

3. Green - At least one of the challenged stood up!
2. Holland - Continues to work hard and make the most of his limited ability.
1. Read - The mongrel we need. Needs some mates though.

Special mentions to:
Carrol - terrific job on Pavlich. Showed a lot of courage.
Johnstone - ran himself into the ground in the first half but fell away in the sendd half.
P. Johnson - the game that really proves his potential? Given game time and able to aclimatise.
Umpires - almost most influential people on the ground. Were obviously wearing Freo's away guernsey.

Green was great. 3 votes. 2 Read (this bloke can play) and 1 to Holland who showed reasonable form and took loads of marks.

Best on ground was all three umpires. The free kick against were doubled. Not on. Someone should question this - or will we be silenced like everyone else for daring to point out the obvious.

Who is in worse form right now, the MFC or The maggot's? I understand we need to look after our umpire's the game won't exist without them, but spare us that amaturish trio. Best team still won regardless though...
