Only because Danners wanted to try some kids in front of a proven consistent peformer. Still reckon other clubs supporters value him a lot more than some on here. Browny will be in top 6 in B and F this year, there's a tip for ya

The other supporters see the stats and think hes a superstar, i see the number of times he gets the ball and if it results in us getting anything from it but a kick 30m out to the side, yes to a player but not of any use to the team. Ricky Petterd has had similar stats but with a lot more benefit in his disposals. As for your comment on 15 other clubs being interested, well i dont see Troy Makepeace running around in the AFL and he is a carbon copy of doggy brown, i respect him as a team player, but i think he has to be in the same boat as Bizz, Holland and Wheatley

Makepeace is a pretty accurate comparison, the Kangaroos were tough with him and culled him last year, tough as nails but his disposal just wasnt up to scratch.

I'd be suprised if Brown was still running around in 2008 for us.

Serious question chipper, are you related to or do you know Browny? Just seems to be the main thing you want to talk about.

He's a good clubman but really not a great player. I never saw him as able to stop an opposition small forward (I remember horror days where he played on Farmer) and as a loose running defender his disposal and more importantly vision is below par.

Too often he would chip kick across the ground to players under pressure ala Luke Williams and with his up and under kicks it is always a dicey proposition.

Not to say I don't admire the way he goes about it or how he has gotten the most out of himself, but if we are to move forward as a club he should not be in the best 22.

I could tell you but I have to speak to my lawyer first Marns! Yeah he is a good mate from High School as if you couldn't tell - but I still try and be as objective as possible about his performance. I agree with you that he should kick longer on occassions. He doesn't lift the eyes for the next option often enough.

Yeah fair enough on your view but I don't aree with you sorry. Yep he's had some bad games against Farmer and the like now and again but who hasn't? I reckon if you go back to the stats of players he has played on in the past 6 years your would be suprised at how quite he keeps them. I keep an eye on it and more than often it is no more than 10 possies. His fitness allows him to push back quickly when their is a turnover and find his opponent.

Yeah you're right, I do speak about him a lot because I reckon he gets a raw deal on here from supporters a lot of the time. Don't worry I haven't got a shrine with Browny photo's on it with copious amounts of candles (alla Crazy Joe Devola on Seinfeld with Elaine). I'll endeavour to broaden my views to other aspects in future!
