Thread needs alot more Nahas.

Generated so much run with nearly all of his posessions when his teammates remained stagnant.

3. Reiwoldt
2. Nahas
1. White

3. Reiwoldt - 6 goals on the back on 1 practice match.
2. Jackson - head to head with Judd and ended up with 22 disposals and 2 goals while Judd had 25 and a goal
1. Nahas - Kept us in it early by continually taking the game on creating run and providing an option out wide.

Mentions:
Cotchin - super 3rd quarter needs to do it for longer than a quarter though
White - shut Yarran down completely
Graham - big effort to come back after copping a knock competed well.
Rance - made a couple of mistakes but then again so did everyone else, beat his opponents most of the night.

this & this.

Who else thought Nahas' run and carry early in that third term really aided our comeback?

The kid has got talent, but he runs himself into trouble a lot of the time.

His performance yesterday was definitely worthy of reselection this coming week.

3. Jack Riewoldt - Simply the best full forward in the AFL.
2. Dan Jackson - Add some grunt and placed scoreboard pressure on Carlton.
1. Reece Conca - From my view on the ground, he has AWESOME pick up skills, scoops the ball up off the ground beautifully. (His kick ain't too bad either!)

Jack - clearly our best:thumbsu:, perhaps even 1 brownlow vote for the night?
Rance - Surprised me but still lacks some composure in using the best option. He was great last night:thumbsu:
Cotch - Broke the Robinson tag in the second qtr and really blew the game open in the third.

Just on cotch, if a few of his team mates had helped him to free up his tag a little earlier based purely on his effort in 3rd qtr then we could have had a match winning lead at 3qtr time?

Gee I was impressed with Gus effort last night, he just needs to remember to pick up his man after the ruck contest and not let them roam free. That hurt us last night:(

He is not an outside mid !

3 - Jackson. What a warrior!
2 - Riewoldt. Gun
1 - White. Didn't get a lot but when he did he was effective and his job on Yarran was great. Might keep King out the side?

Nahas and Conca are unlucky.

3. Jack- Breath of freah air.
2. Jackson
1. Conca

Cotchin good for 30% of the game. Doesn't warrant a vote I'm afraid although he was superb when up and about.

This conca kid looks the goods. Clean skills and has composure. :thumbsu:

3- JR
2- Dan Jackson
1- Batchelor

I like Hellbig's hunger and attack, he will be a fixture.
A little dissapointed in the way Conca moves and those skewiff kicks are a worry.
Ty is swaying me to believe he does have what it takes.
Grigg isnt a ruckman, but I also feel from what I saw he isnt an answer either, just another plodder.
Houli did some good stuff.
Rance and McGuane battled hard against taller opponents. Lids needs a wake up call.
Our FL is a ****ing huge worry still. It was like back to the future. ;)

3 - Jack - most influential player on our side
2 - Cotch - very quiet in the first quarter but he was the reason the game turned. His third quarter was sublime.
1 - Newman - our only performer over the majority if the game.

Conca was impressive, moves beautifully, very effective user of the ball. Once his gained abit of confidence in the second half he really brought some calmness to the backline.

3. Jack (what would be do without him?)
2. Jackson (i love to see a midfielder kicking goals - especially when he's tagging judd)
1. Rance (toss up with nahas - not my fave players - but great games from both of them)

3 Reiwoldt

Fair gap after that, but raffle Jackson, Nahas, Cotchin, maybe Conca at a stretch for the others.

8 or 10 guys had one or two good quarters. No-one bar Jack really put it all together.

Usually on the same page as you Cogga, but I like the way Conca moved in traffic. A couple of shonky kicks I am willing to put down as frist-game nerves.

For me its like this, had he been a number 45 pick then yes, we can put it down to first game nerves, but as a first pick of the bunch, i expect more. The kicks were like a kid who had just picked up a footy for the first time, that shouldnt happen for a no 6 pick in the elite competition. They also lacked penetration more often than not. And dare i say it, he just looks to slow and small for the position he played in. ;)

He's not meant to be playing HBF for his career but he's been played there as it is more outside and we can use his good decision making. Its the perfect spot for developing a future midfielder.

Really this whole post is a joke, I really don't know where else to start on it.

would have thought the perfect spot for developing a future midfielder is in the midfield. I guess that they developed Martin the wrong way then fool. ;)

---

would be suprised if he didnt get a vote or 3, was the dominant player on the park. at one stage he was body to body, and on his mobly txting me -'watch this, another one" poped his phone in this pocket, looked up just as the ball fell into his arms, banged another one in. unstoppable.

sadly carlton had a dozen good players and we had about 3
