5. Deledio
4. Grigg
3. Cotchin
2. Jackson

...

1. Batchelor - this kid has a genuine future.

3. Deledio. Has to be... dominated Goddard and played an extrodinary game.
2. Grigg. Like I said in the other game, very, very solid game.
1. White. Another fantastic taggin role.

Martin, Jackson, Cotchin, McGuane all very good too.

King's first quarter was an absolute disgrace. His opponent got 11 possies or so and he got a couple at best.

Tough this week.

3: Deledio (massive game, just huge, BOG by so far it wasn't funny)
2: Martin (three goals from a mid...isn't that what we have been crying out for? 1st half was absolutely colossal)
1: Grigg (massive game. Just gets everywhere)

Vickery was great in the 1st half. Morton did his job. Jackson was good. Cotchin was very good. Thought McGuane was good on Riewoldt.

This.

Matty White....good shutdown job, but his kicking really lets him down

3. Deledio
2. grigg
1. Jackson

King started us off by dropping McEvoy then winning a free-kick when St-Kilda were having a shot on goal.

-3 to the umpires for not paying Morton's mark and for giving deliberate rushed behind against McGuane :thumbsd:

Identical to triple M. They apologised to Cotchin for not finding room for him too.

I'm going to choose 5 just to be different.

5. Jackson - Thought he was absolutely sensational tonight. When the stakes needed to be raised, he bashed and crashed and jostled and intimidated. Was seemingly everywhere, and used the ball well.
4. Grigg - Very strong inside performance by Grigg. Worked hard both on and off the ball, and used it well. No where near as one sided as Houli, and his last quarter was phenomenal.
3 - Deledio - Thought he was shaky to start - he was missing targets and not quite making his way to the right spots - team mates kept putting it half a step in front of him (where he'd usually be). Really turned the corner, and was fantastic offensively and defensively in the second half of the game.
2 - Martin - Strong as an ox - and boy was he dangerous up forward. Like Jacko, when he kicks them, they stay kicked. He's really vital to our structure - and plays a lot taller than he is.
1 - Cotchin - Kid just has poise. Whether it's putting the ball out into space off his left, or that silky bit of skill where he keeps his feet in packs - he just does it all. If he gets 30 touches a night, he's best on every time.

Honourable mentions: Vickery - Helbig - Batchelor - McGuane - King (6th) - Conca

First time doing votes & I'm goona take a different approach.... my poor man's 3,2,1

3. JACKSON - Never rated him. My knock being his disposal but even though it's only been 2 weeks hasn't made too many errors & on performance this yr to date has shown to be a great offensive tagger. If he can maintain can be the 1 of the best taggers in the League.
2. GUS - Those who don't rate him better look again. IMO dominated the ruck and great workman horse performance. Most pleasing is after contesting ruck constantly looking for the next phase of play. Whether looking for an offload from one of the mids or laying tackle on opposition, second efforts were excellent.
3. WHITE - Another I didn't/don't rate but this year so far has improved his game, maybe another player who we have found the role to suit him. 2 great shut down jobs in 2 weeks. Great pace and footy brain, if only he can work on his disposal.

Honorable mention to KINGY. Great harassment, picked up from end of last year & you felt something was always gonna happen when the ball was in his area. Play of the game when the melee happened & he ran straight over to McEvoy and just threw him straight to the ground & stood over him giving it to him right in his face. LMAO!!!

3. Deledio
Great rebound from his rusty game last week, good spray from Dimma. Dominated and shut down Goddard, that is pretty hard to do so he gets my 3 votes. I regret giving Deledio a spray last week.
2. Grigg
Good trade by the club. Puts his body on the line and racks up touches. Needs to improve on his kicking though but don't wanna ruin his moment so he had a great game, will be hoping for more of these games. To up his game he needs to impact games his all those disposals.
3. King
Roughing it up and kicked two goals

Certificates of honor:
Vickery
Good marks, two goals. Good game. Needs to be consistent and get more touches.
Martin
3 goals? Am I delusional? What a beast!! 20 possessions. Whatever Dimma said to the midfielders I want him to keep it up because today was a very great game for him
Cotchin
Breakout season. Definitely going to be a top contender if not the winner for this year's B&F
McGuane
Pretty good first half on Riewoldt, shame we are going to lose him for a few weeks. If we had Moore coming in it wouldn't be so bad.
Morton
Pretty good at times, pretty selfish at times when he tried to take a hanger when we desperately needed him to mark it cleanly

3. Deledio
2. Grigg
1. Martin

Honorable mentions to Jackson
Cotchin was good, everyone on here still overrates him, no way should he be in the votes

I thought there where 4 standouts with one honourable, Plenty of other pleasing efforts though.

1.Grigg -new boy on the block-did us proud and structurally aided us immensely-it was not just the possessions and link play.

2. Marto- with Grigg clearly in the top two. Without Marto's inspiration up forward the candle may have blown out. Without JR provided the hope and did the tough hard stuff.

3. Lids- Lids did a great job. I loved the goal from Lids(that was a step). However, stopping Goddard who doesn't like tags is not massive but Lids was instrumental no doubt. Without Lids we would not have been in the hunt. However, Lids played the game I would like to see him play week in week out. This is the bar for Lids although it is hard to replicate if in the backline .

4. Cotch- the master applying his trade. The new general in the midfield. Getting consistently very good and decision making a standout. Lids needs to replicate your consistency. Cotch, now he has more of a base is imposing himself on the contest, signs of true leadership and invaluable to Newie as support as he holds up the backline

Honuorable mention is Vickery. Don't listen to anyone bagging your development. They know nothing like sargent Schultz!!!

Goddard never gets tagged, how is it not a massive job, Lids easily deserves the BOG honours for his game last night. His gut running was sensational as well, no doubt Benny Cousins taught him that.

3 Deledio
2 Grigg
1 Martin

Honourable mentions to Cotch, Jacko and Matty White.
McGuane had a very good game on Roo, we will miss him the next 3 weeks for sure:thumbsd:

The commentors/ex footy players/coaches on TV have mentioned a number of times Goddard doesn't like the tag. This is before last nights game. See 2nd GF v Collingwood.

Lids played a very good game but with his ability it should be regular.Marto did the hard stuff and Grigg had a breakout game so they get the nod for me

5 Jackson- Watch the game again and look how hard he goes in and how many times he extracts the ball, anyone who dosen't rate him is f**k*d in the head

4 Lids- We were talking all week about how he needs to lift, and now, lets hope he plays like he did last night, keep him in the midfield!!!

3 Grigg- Carlton can bag him about his kicking all they want, he is a genuine tryer and almost carried us over the line in the last 10-12 mins

2 Martin- 3 goals, where did that come from?? He is a bull and if he's not in the middle, we know where he should be

1 Gus- Alright, i have seen others calling him piss weak and soft, but he is our no 1 ruckman and i really thought he wasgood last night

3 Jackson

2 Deledio

1 grigg

Why do people go on about cotchin after a game with only 50% effeciency? Worst efficiency for the entire side Friday night!
