POTY

5. Ricciuto - another great effort by the skipper. When will some follow??

4. Burton - terrific effort by the Birdman and is one of the rare players that can mark overhead in our team.

3. Hentschel - should be renamed Trent Terrific. The potential has now been realized

2. Stenglein - as usual gave 100% and rarely beaten in a 1 on 1 contest. Not a smart footballer though.

1. Johncock - one of the few truly talented up and comers we've got - actually uses the ball well.

BTM

3. Roo - as above. The heart and soul of Adelaide at the moment.

2. Burton - hats off to the Birdman for covering enormous ground and busting a gut trying to get us up.

1. Bassett - tried his guts out in defence.

Rookie

1. Hentschel - I'd give him 3 votes if I could. Top game and showed exquisite foot skillsi n a team where such skills are rare. Should get the AFL vote this week for Rookie of the Year.

This is really tough as all the guys tried hard but most if not all of them burned the ball. So guys PLEASE follow the format of 5-4-3-2-1 for POTY and 3-2-1 for BTM. Only give 1 vote to rookies.

Player of the year

5 - Mark Ricciuto - Real captain's effort. Got ****loads of it.

4 - Brett Burton - Got plenty of it and took some fantastic defensice marks that saved our backside on few occasions. Burned the ball but so did everyone else.

3 - Graham Johncock - He is having a good year. The bloke has been in our best players in all 3 games.

2 - Tyson Stenglein - Got his hands on it and took some fantastic marks. He didn't use it well but again, neither did the rest of the team.

1 - Trent Hentschel - I told you so. This kid will be one very good player. His coolness under pressure and evasive skills are fantastic. Very good game from Trent.

Best Team Man

3 - Nathan Bassett - I thought he played a very good game on Medhurst. Sure Medhurst shanked his kicks but Bassett did a good job on him. Medhurst was never really a big danger for us which is something that can't be said for his games against us in the past.

2 - Brent Reilly - He started off a bit off boil but was better as the game progressed. He was at the bottom of a few packs which impressed me ;)

1 - James Begley - I know this bloke gets a cops a lot of unwarranted flak from this board but he was very good today before he cramped up. Farmer was not a threat today. Jeff tried a few of his party tricks but Begs didn't buy them. Well done Begley.

Rookie

1 - Trent Hentschel - Kid was great. He is really coming on and becoming as somewhat of a general in defence.

Reilly is very unlucky to miss out on a rookie vote. Its good to have rookies standing up so we can give some votes. Something that we weren't able to do in the past.

5. Roo- back to his Brownlow form. Good on him! :D
4. Burton- Busy all day. Thought we had to Burtons
3. Johncock- Also had a fair bit of the ball and used it fairly well.
2. Stenglein- That mark was his. Downright crappy decision ump :(
1. Reilly- Im throwing caution to the wind. Didnt know who else to give it to but thought he was pretty busy with 17 possesions

BTM
3. Roo
2. Burton
1. Smarty

ROOKIE.
Am I allowed to give this to Reilly also? Toss up between him and Potential but Reils played most of the game and didnt seem to tire at all.

And to the w@nker who rang 5AA and said that Reilly is bull****, wasnt worth going for in the draft and has a stump stuck up his ass. That radio station could do without pathetic pieces of cr@p like you

Ah yeah, I could have easily had Stenglein, Begley and Bassett in the votes now that I think about it.

Our defence was pretty good today, kept us in the game really.

Good call Stiffy. I missed him on the way through - he deserves a mention.

Some great efforts today, some poor efforts as well, but at least a number of players stepped up.

Player of the year
5. Riccuito - Got plenty of the ball, and unlike some others, used it very well. Did great under preassure and was formidable throughout the whole game.

4. Hentschel - Very impressed. Potenschel did extremely well and kept his opposition in check. Took some great marks and disposed of the ball very well. Was also cool under pressure. I hope this continues, because he was great to watch.

3. Burton - Used the ball very well, took some fantastic overhead marks and seemed to worry the opposition.

2. Massie - Is in good form and while he did burn the ball on occasions, is starting to find his feet at the Crows and does some really good things.

1. Basset - Say all you want, but this guy really impressed me today. Did a very good job on Medhurst, but also did the team things and spoiled nicely. Very happy.

Best Team Man
3. Massie - Did a lot of the hard things, and managed to get the ball. Set some great plays up, hope he continued this.

2. Reilly - Always kept running and although he has performed better, he always gave a contest. Also used the ball well.

1. Begley - Beggers deserves to be in this side, no matter what, and he proved that today. Did very well on the half back flank and proved to be a very good player in the backline.

Rookie of the Year
Hentschel - Like I said, he really impressed me. Always gave a contest, and happened to take a few great marks as well. Dispoesed very well and was cool - headed under pressure. Hope he continues this excellent form.

Sure, it would seem like we must have been perfect by my descriptions, but these were the only players who did well (bar Stiffy).

These are only a small part of a big team, and it's depressing to see the other players letting these ones down.

Hopefully it's a different story next week.

POTY

5. Roo - Tried his guts out all day. Lead from the front as usual. And as usual, not many followed.

4. Birdman - Like many of the team...if only he'd kicked straight...

3. Hentschel - Loving him more and more. Showed a bit of confidence and poise today, working his way through traffic. Took some good marks.

2. Stinga - He has to be one of the strongest overhead marks for his size. Courageous as always.

1. The Hound - Gets a vote just ahead of Stiffy. Stood up well today, liked his game.

BTM

3. Roo - Bloody legend. That's all to say.

2. Hentschel - See above.

1. Reilly - Put his body in right from the first bounce. Disposal was a bit off today though.

Rookie

1. Hentschel - See above again.
