Very disappointing loss tonight, just weren't allowed to get into our natural game and the loss of Fletcher before the game didn't help us either. Played very undisciplined football tonight where-as the Cats played a disciplined brand of footy. Our kicking and skills in particular were poor.
My votes:

3 Rioli - getting his touch back bit by bit, just waiting for when he will take a game by the scruff and explode (not literally). Provided some good run.
2 Cara - Had a good first half, albeit some poor judgements with his kicking at times.
1 Hird had a good 3rd quarter also and picked up kicks here and there throughout the game. Was damaging at times and should have probably earned more votes.

Others: Alessio played fairly well during the 3rd quarter getting first use to us during the latter stages of the quarter. Bolton did provide a lot of run out of the backline during the game, but unfortunately what let him down was letting Kingsley get 6 goals.

Anyways, must win game next week as we find ourselves out of the 8 for the first time since Round 16, 1998. If we can't beat the Tigers then we will probably stay there.:(

He was Essendons only 4 qtr player.

JUBJUB,

I would have to agree with you there. James Hird is a fantastic player who tried his guts out tonight in a losing cause.

Go Cats!!

1. Bolton

Save for one or two others, everybody else should be ashamed of that performance, at this, arguably the most important match of the entire season thus far.

I actually left early for the first time ever. I don't think I've ever seen a more frustrating game, live anyway. I said a few things on the way out of the ground that I regret, and take them back. But I'm still very, very disappointed in that effort.

Gotta give credit and face facts - Geelong were too good and our premiership chances are in tatters.

Lucas, Blumfield and Heffernan who started on the bench, are now playing for their futures at Essendon it would seem.

5 wins from 7 without Hird and Lloyd, zero wins from 3 with them - as they say 'a champion team will beat a team of champions.' And throwing another champion like Carey into the mix probably wouldn't help, either.

(Not that I'm blaming either Hird or Lloyd.)

lol

From what i saw, Hird and Rioli can share the points. (i didn't get to see the whole game though)

And the Pev tried but didn't really seem to do much. (again - i only saw half the game)

Why the hell is Caracella getting votes? He was hopeless!!!
He had 25(?) possessions and 3 goals. Hardly hopeless. I think it is unfair that he is getting lumped into the same group as lazy arseholes like mr 3 year contract and Lucas, Blumfield, Alessio, Barnard, McVeigh, etc.
