Well done Cats, fantastic win. Enjoyable for it to be hard to give votes for all of the right reasons for a change!

5. Mooney
4. Bartel
3. S Johnson
2. King
1. Scarlett

Apologies go mainly to the Ablett boys - they were great.

1. Could go to a few players, Rooke could get it for his 1st qtr performance alone!

5. Rooke - Absolutely towelled up the reigning brownlow medallist and drove us forward with some steam train runs through packs. I don't think Judd had an effective possession in the first half! That was how good his blanketing job was. He faded away when the sting was out of the game but was instrumental in setting it up.

4. S Johnson.

3. Mooney.

2. King.

1. N. Ablett.

5 - Bartel: Will be our Brownlow hope, would have added 2-3 in this game, just another great performance.
4 - S Johnson: Great game, we have missed his presence up forward this season, Eagles defenders just looked lost when got near it
3 - Mooney: Great skills shown, played well in the midfield and down back, always a solid contributor has terrific skills for a big man, a part of his game that is not exactly well recognized unfortunately... His pressure on the man and tackling is just awesome and yesterday was no exception.
2 - Ling: Held the Brownlow favourite to 15 or so touches while having 20+ himself, he excels in tagging roles. Can't believe his name has gone unmentioned in this thread?
1 - N Ablett: Quiet in the second half, but 4 goals and 2 goal assists from a key forward is more then anyone could ask for from any FF in the comp.

Joel Corey is another who doesn't seem to attract alot of recognition, I thought he played well, led us in tackles I think and always does the 1%ers...
Rooke very unlucky to miss my votes, took good care of Judd when Judd went forward and played very well as a loose backman/midfielder (much like the role Wojcinski played before he was injured)
King played well, not vote worthy though. Got towled up in the hitouts, but found space around the ground which is promising with September 2 weeks away.

5. Jarad Rooke- best game of his career
4. Cameron Mooney- to play that way with a crook back is amazing
3. Jimmy Bartel- 30 touches
----
2. Nathan Ablett- Rd 21 rising star nomination
1. Matthew Scarlett- Immovable object

Rooke, Mooney and Bartel clearly the best 3 players on the ground. The other 2 spots could have been given to any of 5-6 players so apologies to Gary Ablett, Lingy, Steve Johnson and Steven King.

GREAT STUFF.

5. S.Johnson. Clearly best on ground, by a mile. Was our "make things happen" man all day and with 20 kicks and three goals three, he certainly made things happen. Found the footy at both ends and his class was amazingly good.

4. J.Bartel. Always in the thick of it. All day. This bloke seems to be a bit of a WCE bugbear actually. Sign a new contract, Jimmy, and I'll give ya five next week.

3. C.Mooney. Best game for Moons for the year. A really inspired performance at CHB, it looked as if Mooney had sneaked a few things from the WCE Drug Cabinet (or had just overdosed on No-Doz) and was a driving, unstoppable force. He put two things on the park on Saturday; one, a desire to eat young West Coast Eagles for breakfast, and two, a conduit for all his aggression at the footy. Great stuff.

2. C.Ling. I seriously think that something has been wrong with Linger for half this season - his corked buttock again maybe? We all know thanks to the special-shorts legend that there's a fair amount of buttock to be corked and perhaps that's why he was happy to take Cousins on a HBF/BP. He belted Cousins in the air and for strength, found the football and didn't just break even, he smashed Cousins all round the park. I was standing next to a friend of mine (WCE Supporter (*pits to ward off devil*)) who, being female, had a massive crush on Ben Cousins and kept yelling out "Binnie!!!" every time he got the footy. I turned round to my other, Geelong supporting friend, to note the irony that one of the most aesthetically challenged footballers in the league was belting girl-crush material - go Rockling!

1. N.Ablett. Sorry, Rookey.
