Yesterday I heard some people talking about the Collingwood v Adelaide game and they thought that Benny Johnson was by FAR BOG. I thought gee thats a bit generous, he was good but not BOG. I personally thought that Tarrant, Woey, Licuria and perhaps even McGough were better then Johnson Friday night. Taking nothing away from Johno, he has been awsome this year and had a nother solid game on Friday night. What do you think?

I think Johnson's performance better than McGough's. MCG gets it enough times but turns it over too often for my liking.

If I had to give 3-2-1 it would be:

3 Tarrant
2 Wakelin
1 Woewodin

It would be a bit unfair on Licuria but when all is said and done his opponent was one of Adelaide's best.

Agree with you on McGoughs disposal but sometimes he just cleares it by simply throwing it onto his boot so to some extent clangers are exepteble.

5. Tarrant
4. Licuria
3. Woewodin
2. Johno
1. McGough

Wakeling was great, I though McGough was good too, perhaps i screwed up, yeah on second thought id say wakes above Johno. McGough still deserves a vote.

It was very hard to choose the top 3 votegetters because they all played different roles. Tarrant as a forward stood up and most likely won the game for us after an outstanding third quarter to end the night with 5 goals. Shane Wakelin was even better than what he played against the bulldogs in Round 2. His marking in the final quarter was breathtaking considering the final score. He held Carey in the first half with some terrific spoiling. Showed us that he can still play as a full-back instead of the running role when Prestigiacomo is present. Paul Licuria played with heart and was back to his 2001 and 2002 form. Didn't stop running and held up as the biggest ball getter on the ground. Ben Johnson showed run of the half back flank and was impressive at half forward aswell. Starting to remind me of the bulldogs Rohan Smith with the same sort of game, just needs to work on that disposal. Shane Woewodin proved once again that he is consistent. Dropped off but regained touch when he found the ball. Kept running the whole night and his tackling showed us that he is one of the players that won't and don't stop trying. Mark McGough once again earned the name Mark McStat. he once again was the ball magnet and took a game high 10 marks. He spent alot of time on the bench and looked quite sore. He needs to keep the consistency to be rated as a player and keep his spot around September. Jason Cloke made me happy because of his consistent spoiling, and showed glimpses of his 2002 and 2003 years as a DEFENDER. His brother Cameron showed some courage as a marking half forward. Starting to play his game like a Riewoldt but needs to kick goals, i don't think he is a ruckman and needs to stay at Half Forward. Ryan Lonie has made up for the ugly start to the year with some great work at half-back. Chipped in with a handy goal, what he needs to do each week. The man that most impressed me was no.13 Richard Cole. He finally proved to me that he could play a couple of good games in a row. Showed his heart for the club and his strength in contests. Just needs to work on his gathers and marking, still hasn't got clean hands. Rhyce Shaw looked promising without the ball, reasons were the ignored leads especially for Cam Cloke. Dane Swan did nothing, but has worked hard since the Brisbane match, can't be dropped from this performance.

what is the general thought on how richie cole played?
i thought he played a pretty good game rebounding from half back
just thinking back now, i cant remember him fluffing any kicks....but he probably did though and i just cant remember

my votes would have been:
5 Tarrant
4 Wakelin
3 Licuria
2 Johnson
1 J Cloke

In such a scrappy game I could not have much room for any midfielder on the ground, no 18 could be an exception. How could you have Mr McGough in the top 5. He had plenty of the ball but I doubt that more than 5 of these touch's were effective, he was one of the reasons for why the game was so scrappy. Four of my 5 spots would have to go to the defenders. They were all fantastic.

5 - Shane Wakelin
In a pre-macth that was hyped up over Wayne Carey, Shane found a great way to come back to form. His last quater was amazing.

4 - Chris Tarrant
To kick 5 goals in a game like that was great to see and something that Chris can do and should do more often. A very important player for us, and a great welcome back.

3 - Jason Cloke
WELCOME BACK JASON. Back to what he knows, running hard at the opponent and hitting the ball even harder. Haven't seen this since prelim final v Adelaide, 2002.

2 - Richie Cole
Have a look at the replay for his game. He was everywhere in the back half, fed off cloke and wakelin's hard hitting. Will lift when others are around him.

1 - Benny Johnson
Has to be a run away fav for the copeland, should be 20 votes clear already. Another great game. Will love to see him when he plays more midfield roles.

Richie was ok, but still needs to work on his decisions making, Let's hope that comes with expirence. I love the way that he goes in for the hard ball and puts his head over the ball. Gavin Brown like

that is a good statement and a very true one.

If "cole-iwobbles" decisison making lifts in the next two years and loses his nerves out there on the day/night then he will be a big chance as a 100+ game player for the Magpies, and most likely be the first.
