5. Nathan Bassett - He was the general back there today.

4. Kris Massie - I thought it was probably his best game for the club. When we were under pressure and struggling early, Massie was the one standing up and having a red hot go. Sensational!!!!!!

3. Michael Doughty - Just keep on powering on. Has been sensational in the last 6 or so weeks. Continued great form tonight

2. Nathan Van Berlo - Isn't he developing into a BEAUTY!!!!!! He will be a player no doubt. He just keeps getting better and better. Pitty about the injury

1. Tyson Edwards - Not as clean as he normally is but he was probably the best of our full time midfielders tonight.

Honourable Mentions: Scott Thompson, Trent Hentschel, Graham Johncock (Great 2nd half, dodgy the first), Scott Stevens, Brett Burton, Matthew Bode.


Best Team Men

3. Matthew Bode - Hasn't he got a bucketloads of courage and grunt?! His hunting and defensive pressure was BRILLIANT. Love the way little terrier plays.

2. Nathan Van Berlo - He has unbelievale courage and does the team things.

1. Ivan Maric - BIG Ivan was great tonight. I thought he rucked better than Biglands and his second and third efforts were great. Still is a bit nervous when he gets it but thats expected from a big lad in his 3rd AFL game.

Knight was stiff not to receive votes tonight. I thought he was very good in the midfield in 3rd quarter and was pretty good for the whole game. Another player in the making on our squad.


How good was Hentschel's goal. He split the double team, kept his feet beautifully and kicked a great goal.

Just a side note - How good would Jason Roe be for us as a 3rd tall or a CHB. He would be the perfect fit for our side.

VB was better than Knighta.

Knights is just struggling to take the next step. Reckon Porplyzia & JT may come back in next week, with VB's injury.

Knighty will get there, eventually. Look at how long it has taken guys like Reilly and Doughty yet they are coming along every week. The more they are shared around (including the likes of porplyzia) the more depth we will have over the next two to three years as the old blokes start to hang up their boots.

Another great game by Bassett. The guy simply has the knack of getting where the ball is. Great also to see Birdman punching for the majority of the night knowing it may have been tough to pull in the big one.

5. Nathan Bassett - Bass is in outstanding form at the moment and dominated our defence both in the air and on the ground. Clearly best IMO.

4. Kris Massie - Kris was terrific tonight. Contested everything back there and mopped up repeatedly. One of our most improved for the year and has gone from a potential delist to a must keep.

3. Michael Doughty - And they say you can't develop toughness!! Put his body on the line repeatedly and when you combine that with his excellent skills, you end up with a damn good player.

2. Brett Burton -The entertainment package. It was all there again tonight. The good, the bad, the ugly. But overall there was a hell of a lot more good and his work rate was terrific both going back and forward. Impossible to match up on.

1. Tyson Edwards - Not his greatest night tonight, but IMO was the best of our mid-fielders and did some good things when it really counted.

Honourable Mentions: Scott Thompson, Trent Hentschel, Nathan van Berlo and Scott Stevens.

1. Nathan van Berlo - No longer a bit player but has become an important part of our structure whether as a tagger, a backman, or a wingman - didn't let us down tonight either.

1. Nathan Van Berlo - coming along nicely as a mid-fielder, come backman come wingman. IMO a future captain of the club and a 200+ game player. Bickley mark II.


1. Ivan Maric - Showing enormous promise for a ruckman so young and inexperienced. We have a good 'un here.

1. Chris Knights Doing a lot better than some here are giving him credit for. Has a red hot go and tonight was no exception - will mature into a fine mid-fielder for us.

Agree, thought Mattner's breaking of the lines off half-back really changed the game in our favour in the second. A lot of people have Edwards in their votes, I thought it was one of his down games to be honest. Continually coughed the ball up by hand to Brisbane when he was tackled - the umps weren't paying holding the ball all night so he should have just held onto the footy - wasn't the only culprit mind you.
