5) Johncock
4) McLeod
3) Bassett
2) Riccutio
1) Perrie

unlucky to miss out: Goodwin, Edwards, Hentschel, McGregor.

best team man:

3) McGregor
2) Goodwin
1) Edwards

unlucky to miss out: Hudson (worked hard & only because he wasn't up against any quality AFL ruckmen)

rookie: 1) Rutten

Great to get a win, some positives signs there but we will have to play much better next week to get up over Port.

5: Macca, statistically not the best but had the biggest impact.
4: Stiffy, great game, must stay down back.
3: Goodwin, makes a huge difference to the side.
2: Roo, very important in the last few minutes.
1: Edwards, added that touch of class to the midfield.

BTM

3: Mattner, is prepared to run the lines, kick over the line and chase all day long.
2: Bassett, said it again and I will say it again, courageous.
1: Thompson, much needed inside midfielder.

Rookie: Rutten.

POTY

5: Graham Johncock - brilliant out of the backline, neally the only play who played well consistantly for 4 quarters
4: Andrew McLeod - Didn't see a lot of the ball in the middle of the match but his influence on the game was huge
3: Mark Ricciuto - Played like he always does and lead from the front
2: Nathan Bassett - Did great on Tarent and then as a sort of loose man back there moping up.
1: Tyson Edwards - very, very underrated and the little thinkgs he did were great.

BEST TEAM MAN

3. Nathan Bassett - saved the team with his defending at times and saving goals with some great marks
2: Andrew McLead - Just the way he lifted the team at crucial stages with play only McLead could exucute.
1: Ben Hudson - Never gives up. Was forced to do most of the rucking in the last quater with Biglands going forward and saw the game out well.

ROOKIE
1: Ben Rutten - struggeled early on Rocca but went onto Tarrent and did the job.

Footnote - interesting definition here. Apparently the word "Doughty" is a Middle English word meaning "Marked by stouthearted courage; brave"; or "resolute and without fear".

In that case, there must be extreme doubts about his parentage. ;)

Player of the Year
5. Johncock - Very damaging in the backline, provided excellent run and stopped many potential goals for Collingwood, especially in the dire stages of the game.
4. McLeod - Absolute matchwinner. A bit apprehensive at times to work hard, but he is the reason we won.
3. Goodwin - Died out in the latter stages of the game due to cramp, but was excellent in the early stages.
2. Bassett - Very reliable in the backline, set plays up, was courageous and saved many potential goals. Great effort.
1. Riccuito - Consistent performance, bulldozed his way through the opposition and that was exactly what we needed at the crucial stages of the game.

Best Team Man
3. Hudson - A man mountain and uses it to his advantage. Mix courage with determination and hard work and you have created Huddo. 2nd and 3rd efforts were terrific.
2. Goodwin - Took the bumps and bruises, yet demanded he stay on the ground. Terrific performance overall.
1. Rutten - Performed very well on Tarrant in a negating sense, his spoils were very good at times and surprisingly matched at times in pace.

Rookie of the Year
Rutten - The only one elegible, but deserves it nonetheless. Performed admirably on Tarrant. His spoils were nothing short of fantastic and he really is growing as a player.

Kudos to Bode as well for his fantastic last quarter.

Player of The Year
5. Graham Johncock - Great rebound out of defence.
4. Simon Goodwin - Very valuable run all day. My heart skipped a few beats when he cramped up in the 3rd qtr.
3. Andrew McLeod - Sheer brilliance and stood out with his usage of the ball all day.
2. Nathan Bassett - 12 marks in defence. Great effort again.
1. Mark Ricciuto - Another strong effort by the Roo.

Best Team Man
3. Nathan Bassett
2. Marty Mattner - nobody works harder than this guy
1. Ben Hudson - Provides a contest every time

Rookie
Ben Rutten - solid game by Truck.

I loved the look of Thompson. He is clearly lacking match condition but I'm very impressed by the way he attacks the ball. No nonsense.

Doughty - a couple of his efforts today would be considered soft in Under 9's netball.

PS good to see Bode, Thompson perform well

a couple of players (guess who) showed how to cough the ball up under pressure (as they have done for years)

I was surprised to see Stiffy at the top of everyone's votes. He just didn't seem to stand out as much to me.

Perhaps its the hangover.

Yep its the hangover Dave. :p
Either that or you are trying to get a job with The Herald Sun (didn't make theirs either)

Same stuff as Rucci - he didn't have Johncock in his best players either.
... & that's where the similarities between Rooch & Dave end.

Yep, Stiffy definitely in our best players IMO, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion as to whose BOG.
