i dont care how many touches cousins got but for me he was pretty average. kicked a good goal and had a decent last quarter, but apart from that he was running around like a headless chicken, too slow and turned the ball over countless times.

Id say you are a long way into your VB slab:)

5: Cousins (if we don't offer this giy another contract, I will spew)
4: Deledio (collossal in the last quarter, but excellent all day)
3: King (credit where it's due, he is turning it all around)
2: Edwards (starting to become a very good footballer, just needs more consistency)
1: Newman (really is a leader now)

Tuck was good again.
Gee I'm loving Astbury too.
Martin is everything this club has been missing for the past 10 years.

...but he's not the god damned mathoussala.

Lord!!!

I knew I rarely posted on here for a reason. If bad spelling, bad grammar and failing syntax aren't enough - we now have tortured biblical analogies.

Did you mean Methuselah? He was the guy who lived an exceedingly long life. Of course, contextually, that wouldn't make any sense.

So how do Ben Cousins and Methuselah link up? I have no idea what you mean - do you?

Anyway:

Lids was BOG (length of the street)

Don't you mean straight?

5. Jake King. When we were ordinary in the first half, he kept us in the game. Best game i've seen him play.
4. Newman. Captains Game. Enough said.
3. Delidio. Took the game by the scruff of the neck and got us over the line.
2. Tuck. Ball getting machine
1. Dusty Martin. I think i have my new man crush. We gotta sign this kid.

Apologies to Cousins (great second half), and Connors.

Each works... ;-)
But my street is very short.
Yes, Lids was awesome. He is excellent overhead and will become as good as Hodge and Goddard in that sweeping defensive role. I am not kidding. He is an out and out gem.

I bet that if you laid 22 Richmond players out, end to end, your street would still be longer!

Lids has always had class, today he displayed real hardness. Hodge is a good comparison. Goddard doesn't get a lot of hard ball.

5. Tuck
4. Deledio
3. Cousins
2. Edwards
1. Martin

Sorry: Connors, King, Newman

Special Mention: Will Thursfield and Andrew Browne

5- Lids
4 -Tuck
3 - Edwards
2- Newman
1- Browne, tireless effort to literally ruck most of the day and then pull down a mark he should never had taken and nail the goal that youngsters at his age and maturity would have fluffed in the pressure of a last quarter.

Left out the cuz purely to give browney the leg up he deserves, but as someone else said, if this guy doesnt get a contract i will ****ing spew up. He could play on crutches and they still wont be able to lay a hand on him. Its like watching the big kid playing with the little kids. ;)

First of all, great to be back in town, go straight to the footy and the boys remarkably won a game that they had no right to. :thumbsu:

5. Lids (When the game needed swinging, he swung it. Totally dominated the second half)
4. Newman (Gave us so much drive coming out of defence, seems to be growing into this leadership role)
3. King (Remarkably, kept us in the game. But it was more flukey than anything, poor turnovers by the crows, just continued to follow him)
2. McGuane (He's unbelievablely unpredictable, but was everywhere yesterday).
1. Martin (Gun... his work in traffic is Greg Williams-like. The kid is best thing to happen to Richmond in 25 years)

5. Martin
4. Lids
3. Cuz
2. King
1. Tuck

Newman, Edwards honorable mentions.

Martin with 6 clearances and 88% disposal efficiency from the engine room, amazing. Another clutch goal.

I just didn't think Lids and Tuck used the ball well at all in the first half. Very unusual for Lids, but then his last quarter was phenomenal.

5- Cousins...people are blind if they can't see he was best on ground by a mile again.
4- Lids...stood up when counted
3 - Newman...now start doing it against the top sides too...
2 - King - Was very solid.
1- Martin - Class...might & power

Hons: Connors, Edwards, Webberly, Graham, Nason.

Tuck to me only broke even between some very good work and the usual braindead stuff.
Ditto Farmer & McGuane.
Moore was very ordinary I thought.

Hicks showed some good signs in his debut.

Biggest Disappointment:Thursty's non-goal.[/quote]

I had $5 on us for < 20 so that point cost me $20 - was hoping instinct would take over and Thursty would clear the ball the wrong way

I had another $5 on us for less than 25 so if he hadve got the goal I woulda lost another $20 - good boy Thursty!

Lol @ Mumbles rating Rutten 2nd BOG. Had Stevens helping him out every single time the ball went near Jack.

5. Bull Martin. **** I love this kid. The game starts in the guts and returns there time after time, and time after time the Bull don't argued his way through traffic and found a teammate. He's getting a new tatt on the palm of his hand that's Maori for: "If you know what's good for you, you'll get the **** out of my way". My god if Cotch is better than this bloke, as I think he will be injury-free, we will get first use of the ball more often than not for 10 years yet.
4. Lids. Gun.
3. Newman. Rock solid.
2. Cuz. Great hands, awareness, footy knowledge, ability to bring teammates into the game. I love the old fella. One more go around.
1. Tucky. Work. Horse.

Mentions to Eddo (dancer), Connors (class - has he played 20 games yet?), King, Morton who looks like he will help solve our lack of outside mids, and of course Jacko. Get Chimp and Nugget back in the midfield and we're starting to get a good mix of big-bodied toughness, ball-winning and class users. The Bull is all three but a couple more of each would be nice.
