Flecther and Read were the catalysts in our victory imo. They set up our attacks to allow chick and matera to score the bag of goals.

votes:-
5: - Fletcher
4: - Chick
3: - Read
2: - Matera
1: - Gardiner

Great to see the midfielders step up without the big names.

5.Daniel Chick- Outstanding Game, 4 goals, great run through the midfield, and rock hard tackling.
4.Phil Read- Worked his ass off, played like a guy making up for lost time.
3.Phil Matera- Absent in the first half, most definitely present in the second.
2.Michael Gardiner-39 Hit outs, 10 Marks, another masterful game from the big fella.
1. Ashley McIntosh- Rock in defence, took care of the most dangerous FF in the game.

Apologies to Fletch, Jako, Coxxxy and Embers.

5: Chick
4: Gardiner - Phenomenal game. He was everywhere0
3: Read - Still needs to work on discipline
2: Morrison - Mopped up in defence, did Wirra's usual job
1: Matera - Quiet 1st half, unstoppable 2nd half. Might get reported though as it appeared he elbowed his opponent in the head in the 3rd qtr.

Team Win - even performance again.

To win without Duncan, Wirra & effectively Cuz shows just how far we've come.

5. Chick
- unbelievable strength & work effort with his tackles and presence. 4 great goals. He is so important that I don't believe we would have won without him.
4. Fletcher
- did the hard stuff to set us up all day, took the substantial weight of Kerr & Cuz on his shoulders away from home on a day when just 12 months ago he would have sunk without trace
3. McIntosh
- beat Neitz all ends up and therefore was critical to our victory. Played a really smart game
2. Gardiner
- best big man on the field (Jolly played well too), huge hitout and mark stats in difficult conditions
1. Jakovich
- dominated in the first quarter across HB to set up a lead, then a catalyst & leader in the second half at HF (and his now customary goal)

Unlucky

Matera - 5 goals 4 and I still can't fit him in
Read - excellent game, I feel very bad about not giving him a vote too
Morrison
Embley
Haynes - excellent leading and good hands
Cox
Jones
Green
Banfield - tough at the back
Judd

What a fantastic win that was! Very even team performance - our midfield depth this year is looking good!

5 - Chick - brilliant game, capped off his hard chasing, tackling, smothering, shepherding with 4 vgood goals
4 - Fletcher - some great clearances and ran hard all day
3 - Read - I forgot what a good player Phil was - really happy to see him back and in form
2 - Gardy - Another vgood effort in the ruck and around the ground
1 - Matera - very quiet in the 1st half but a stunning 2nd half.

Apologies to many including Milli (still a great player), Jako (great game from the 'oldies' :D), Morrison, Haynes, Banners, Green etc...

Lots of guts shown by the team today - a well earned win on the road!!!!

Next year we should vote for top seven or eight because every week we seem to pick five with apologies to two or three and certainly this week it's difficult.

5. Chick
4. Read
3. Gardiner
2. Milli
1. Embley

5. Chick

4. Read

3. Gardiner

2. Jakovich

1. McIntosh

aplogies to Fletcher, Fido and Morrison.

Incidently, not sure when Carroll was "corked" but Robertson was having his way with him early, and Chad did well to break even with him over the course of the rest of the game.

over and out
