5. Tyson Edwards -
Again IMHO best on ground. His hands in close and his work in the traffic is nothing short of sensational. He is about the only player that can find his way out of traffic consistently. Used the ball well as always and kicked a couple of goals.

4. Simon Goodwin -VERY unlucky not to be given BOG. Played a great game with another 30 possesions game. Clearence work was once again exceptional and that kick to Roo on the lead in the 4th when he was under pressure was all class

3. Brett Burton - Another one that is unlucky not to be higher up in the votes. Exceptional game by Birdman kicking 5 goals inclusing a couple of absolute rippers. GREAT GREAT game.

2. Graham Johncock - He is in AA form. Exceptional in defence again. Provides a lot of run out of the backline and generally keeps his opponent under control. His work in congested pack situations is a pleasure to watch.

1. Matthew Bode - Say what you like but this little fella just keeps proving all the doubters VERY VERY wrong. Best reader of the ball off hands on the list and will fight for it to the very end. Always puts his body on the line and goes in hard. Kicked 3 goals but should have had 4 if it wasn't for the unfriendly post.

Best Team Men

3. Nathan Van Berlo -
When the going get tough, the tough get going. He was absolutely inspirational down when the game was on the line. His attack on the man and the ball is second to none. In the last 5 minutes he did 5 tough, hard, courageous things that won us the game. Keep up the good work lad and you just might be a leader of this club in the not too distant future.

2. Nathan Bassett - Not an overly flashy game but I thought his job on Robertson today was fvery good. IMHO, Robbo is Melbourne's best forward and Freddy kept him under control for most of the game.

1. Robert Shirley - Is he in and under or what. Great effort in the pack today. :thumbsu:

5. Tyson Edwards -
Our best mid-fielder today. Won the ball well in close and unlike many of his team-mates used the ball superbly. Just getting better as he gets older.

4. Simon Goodwin - A whisker behind Edwards, and added a ton of dash when he was on the ball with his long raking left foot kicking. In AA form again this year.

3. Brett Burton - The one forward who made a genuine impact upon the game with some freak goals. Top class game for a forward.

2. Graham Johncock - Hits the ball full chested and either crashes the packs or dances around them. Stffy is in superb form this year, with his run and dash from the backlines.

1. Matthew Bode - this little tacker is making some people (no names, WW ;) ) eat their words, with some great crumbing up forward and fierce tackling.

Best Team Man

3. Clarke - Controlled the packs when he was on, giving us first use of the ball. when he was off we were smahed in the mid-field. Still a very important cog in our overall success.

2. Robert Shirley - fierce in the bottom of the packs and won some really hard contested balls. another player commonly under-estimated for his contribution.

1. Van Berlo - Mark Bickley the 2nd IMO. Honest as hell, went in for the hard balls, and was a valuable contributor when it really counted. Quality young player.

Rookie

2. Van Berlo - see above.

BOG

5. Goodwin - prolific
4. Burton - gun
3. Edwards - also prolific
2. Ricciuto - I see others leaving him out, but I couldn't ignore the fact that he stepped up at crucial moments
1. McLeod - provided some of that dash we love

BTM

3. Johncock - solid as ever
2. Reilly - thought his tackling was a real feature
1. Bode - once again, glad to have him back

Rookie

2. Van Berlo - his best game to date?

5 - Simon Goodwin - career best form
4 - Ty Edwards - has gone past McLeod IMO in terms of endevour and consistency
3 - Graham Johncock - good rebound yesterday
2 - Brett Burton - does he actually mean half the stuff he does.?... :p
1 - Ben Hart - Overall a good game but Benny - by trying to run around guys half your age, you are actually making yourself look older and slower than you are.......just keep it simple and do the percentage things and we will all be happy....;)

BTM

3 - Simon Goodwin - steps up when req'd
2 - Mark Ricciuto - Kicks the goals that must be kicked
1 - Matty Bode - Puts the body on the line - career best form atm

2 - Nathan Van Berlo - a regular now

Those who need to have a quiet sit down and a long hard think about their future

3 - Scott Thomson - His disposal is shocking and lack of vision disturbing. Before the howls of "he's only a baby" start......he was very tidy and hard working at the beginning of last year so he is capable of playing accountable football...I think his head is just a bit too inflated at the moment and needs to be brought down a peg or two.
2 - Ken McGregor - oh that's right - he's a slow starter...
1 - Our Ruckmen - 47 hit outs to 25 is all well and good but we need a presence around the ground
