If you wrap yourself in your faith at least be consistent about it in your policy, that's the inconsistency that really irks me about guys like Morrison, and Bernardi. By all means don't vote for gay marriage because of faith, but they may want to bear in my mind of few other biblical instructions like do unto others when looking at social policy.

Bernadi is just a major ****ing dickhead, regardless of faith, party etc.

I voted to keep my current guy, so that meant voting Green. Vote compass suggested I should vote Labor but Shorten is a douche so I wasn't willing to help him out.

I'm generally a liberal voter, but I've been turned off them since finding out how many of their MP's are religious nutters.

RELIGION HAS NO PLACE IN MODERN SOCIETY LET ALONE GOVERNMENT!

Yeah but Di Natale is the biggest skivvy wearing douche of the lot. Only had to see the dickhead on the election coverage last night to have that confirmed.

Oh please, the Greens are the biggest bunch of middle class hypocrites going around. They are just as self serving as any other of the major political groups.

They don't give a **** about governing a country, they just want the power to impose their social and moral views on everyone through law and legislation, just like the other two packs of campaigners.

They don't give a **** about the poor or disadvantaged just like Labor don't. They play the disadvantaged groups like the dupes they are to get them to vote for them.

difference is that the greens and largely labors social and moral views dont require continuing inequal treatment of minorities and pumping money from social services into their business mates pockets. but yoru right, skivvys are the important issue here.

I voted over 2 weeks ago for the Informal Party in the House of Representatives and Senate, come at me AEC.

Early vote pros: getting your name marked off the electoral roll quickly, no long queues, very few HTV stooges hovering around and they can be avoided if you plan ahead (PROTIP: avoid early voting centres where the front entrance is not situated close to the road e.g. centres with front carparks or long walkways where HTV stooges will pounce on you by surprise).

Early vote cons: no sausage sizzle I guess.

You're full of it mate, open your eyes.

I live in a safe Labor seat, they have done absolutely nothing for the two most disadvantaged and run down suburbs in this city and ward even though they have held the seat in both state and federal since 1972. The suburbs are run down, full of unemployed with absolutely zero future of becoming better than what it is now.

That's how much they give a **** about "morals" and "unequal treatment". They take those disadvantaged people for absolute mugs and treat them like shit because they know they'll always vote for them.

Yet over in the marginal seat of Corangamite Labor love to pork barrel over that side of town.

You are truly are clueless, totally duped by the bullshit you've been brainwashed with.

You think I was born yesterday? My whole life I've lived in seats so safe the only reason I've voted is to avoid a fine. And the pork barrelling over swinging seats pisses me off as much as it clearly does you.

Still, only 1 party has tried to introduce fees on bulk billing and frozen Medicare rebates for the 'budget emergency' while also cutting tax to businesses and high bracket income earners and wasting 160 million on an un-needed referendum simply to please the religious nutters within the party

Cutting taxes is awesome. Tax is legalised theft as it is.

Bulk billing should only be available for the truly disadvantaged anyway, not every dog under the sun. Time to get rid of this middle class welfare state.

Was going to like your post, but it was ruined with a cheap shot at the Libs.

You're clearly not religious.

I live in a safe electorate (Tangney) so I find it hard to get motivated about voting. The incumbent Dennis Jensen (Liberal turned independent) is a complete arseclown but still won 65% of the TPP vote last time around. Looks like the new Liberal candidate will take the seat this time. Don't know anything about him, though.

If I thought the policies of one of the major parties were really good/poor or a particular candidate would be good for my electorate it would influence my vote but it's different if you live somewhere where your vote actually counts.

Hits a lot of good points.

The Abbott faction within the liberal party are quick to forget how unpopular Tone's was with voters. He was a long way behind in polls and although we will never know, his government would have struggled to win this election. Admittedly they would've had time to turn things around but they were very unpopular. The handful of people I've mentioned this too tell me polls are rubbish, but they're only rubbish when they don't align with your own views. They've been very close to the actual election results the last three elections and to anyone paying attention have been very close to the general feeling of the population in between elections.

And Shortern is wrong. If the libs do form a majority then Turnbull does have a mandate. That's what winning a majority governments means. Yes they've lost a lot of seats, but rather than attack them, why not build on what Labor has achieved. It's this continuing cycle of negativity that has seen people vote in record numbers for smaller parties and independents.
